Although I may be a blogger who loves clothes, I hardly fancy myself a fashion blogger. My personal style is more feminine and classic than of-the-moment and edgy, but I still enjoy playing dress up (even for the office!). Today I’m kicking off a series of everyday outfits appropriate for a conservative “business casual” workplace like my own.
It may be after Labor Day, but I’m not quite ready to let go of my summer brights just yet. After all, it is still nearly 90 degrees, and the humidity is out in full force. I’m hardly jumping on the scarves and pumpkin spice latte bandwagon until there is at least a little crispness to the morning air. With that in mind, I picked out one of my favorite pencil skirts in a bright melon.
Since the skirt’s brightness is the focal point, I paired it with a classic navy and white polka dot blouse and neutral kitten heels (with bows, of course).
I also kept my jewelry more understated: white and gold enamel earrings and a blue stone necklace.
Blouse: J. Crew Factory (previous season), Skirt: J. Crew Factory, Heels: Butter Soothe Peep-Toe, Earrings: Amrita Singh Lenora, Necklace: Nordstrom (previous season)
Overall I felt very season-appropriate without looking like I was desperately clutching onto summer!
What do y’all think? Are you still incorporating your summer wardrobe or have you skipped straight to fall?
IHi there–new follower from Weddingbee’s share your blogs! 😀
I love this outfit! It’s very similar to how I like to dress: pretty, simply, conservatively. I especially love the skirt: never would have thought about pairing it with the top but it works so well! 😀
