This top, oh this top. I’ve got to admit that I kind of have a love/hate relationship with it. I absolutely adore the deep purple hue. It’s a perfect rich color for Fall and Winter. Bonus: it’s incredibly comfortable. The downside? Well those pleats, while adorable, definitely add some serious volume. Let’s just say that’s it’s borderline maternity-like, which would be perfect-if I was preggers. But yet I still occasionally pull it out of my closet. Apparently comfort and color sometimes win out.Top: Madewell (unpleated option!), Pants: Gap Skinny Mini Skimmer, Shoes: J.Crew Valentina (similar), Necklace: Stella & Dot Somervell, Bracelets: Stella & Dot Christina Link, Gilded Arrow, Earrings: Stella & Dot Nancy Stud
Do you ever wear pieces that you know are slightly unflattering for comfort’s sake?__________________________________________

I’m currently grappling with this dilemma right now! I’m transitioning my closet from spring/summer to fall/winter (I just couldn’t wait any more), and it’s tough deciding what to keep and what to donate/sell! Most of the pieces I can’t decide on are fit issues, and I’m slowly but surely letting go of what I don’t really love.
Thanks for introducing us to Jessica! I love finding new bloggers based on the blogs I already love. I’m excited to check her out!
lovely look I love your purple shirt!
I love this purple color on you! I think that flowy tops are fabulous when paired with a more form fitting bottom. You look great! And thanks to the intro to this new blogger! I love her black tipped mani!! Susan
Leggings and and oversized sweater are my daily fall attire if possible, so yes i would say comfort definately wins out for me.
What a beautiful color combo! I hear you on these types of tops. I love them because they are comfy but then I always feel preggers too 🙂
I love the color! And comfort definitely wins out often 😉
Looking pretty in purple! A loose fitting top can be so comfy and cute at the same time.
The Tiny Heart
I love the color of that top too! I have a few pieces in my closet that I know are not the most flattering, but they’re just so comfy.
I think that top looks great on you – I definitely love the color!
I do know what you mean about maternity-like shirts though. I have a few that I’ve thought “man, this will fit so well when I’m pregnant” so I feel like I have to hold onto it even though I don’t love the way it fits currently. And of course, being super comfortable helps!
Oh I totally wear unflattering clothes for the sake of comfort sometimes! But I like this top on you – I’m a big fan of volume and draping so maybe that’s why. I think you look good! I love the color too!
I do not think you look preggers and I LOVE the color!
Sparkles and Shoes
The purple and blue look really pretty together. Jewel tones are my favorite part of fall! Those shoes are fabulous too.
This color is great on you! Truthfully, we ALL need those comfy go-to pieces. I don’t think you look pregnant at all!
Great outfit and i totally know what you mean about wearing something for comfort. I really like this top on you. It’s a really pretty colour and very flattering.
Don’t forget to link up tomorrow for my weekly tres-Chic fashion thursday link up.
Why are things that are so freaking comfortable so often things that a pregnant woman could wear? For the record you do NOT look pregnant at all but I understand the paranoid feeling!
LOVE THE SHOES. xO!
I love that shade of purple, and your outfit is so comfy chic! I do have some of those tops, but in the opposite fashion. They are not so comfy but look amazing design wise. I really should stop buying tops like that haha!
I like how this looks on you- and the color is spectacular!
Loooooove that top!! I dont think it looks too voluminous in the photos, but I know what you mean, sometimes things just make you feel bigger
The blouse is cute, and the color is gorgeous, but I can definitely relate to not wanting something that leaves the waist line ambiguous.
Girl don’t even! That top looks gorgeous on you! Those kinds of shirts are my favorite…so comfortable to sit/stand in! You have an awesome colorblock look going on too:)!
obsessed with this top. The color is perfection on you. I seriously need to add more purple to my wardrobe. lol. Great post, love. If you get a moment, I have two new looks I’d love to hear your thoughts on. 🙂 xo
you look FAB! I hope i win!
New Follower!! Your blog is so pretty 🙂
Oh my god , i am in love with this polka dotted dress with white tshirt
Its looking too awesome , i also want same 🙂
I love the color of the top and I think it looks great on you! But, I do know what you mean about the pleats adding extra volume. I’m guilty of wearing something cute, but unflattering because I like the color or I want to be super comfy. We’re all allowed to have those days.

Such a pretty shade of purple, and I think that it is really smart to offset the volume of the blouse with skinny jeans.
Fun giveaway, too!
I’m a polka dot fan too! Those pants are nice, they look like leggings…and I love leggings.
