Holiday Traditions

I’ll admit it: I’m one of those people who absolutely rejoices once the holiday season comes around. It was always a big deal around my house growing up, so decorating, listening to Christmas music, and cooking up a storm are the highlight of my year. Unfortunately, being married to a man who works retail puts a little damper on my celebration. His busiest time of the year often leaves me to all the Christmas plans on my own; however, I have made it a point to have a few holiday traditions that the two of us can share together.casual holiday party look

I don’t mind putting up most of the decorations, but I always save the tree for Aaron and I to do together. The Christmas music blasts (while he makes fun of my knowing every word to every song) and we trim the tree together. We also exchange a Christmas ornaments and host an annual Christmas Eve dinner with friends. He might not quite revel in all things holiday like me, but I think he’s coming around…little by little. Besides, who can be grumpy with twinkling Christmas lights around the house? Not this girl.how layer chambray with a tshirtreindeer christmas teechristmas tee cutefamily christmas ornament traditionAnother reason to keep me smiling? Cute holiday-themed everything. I may not be quite confident enough to rock a tacky Christmas sweater around the mall, but this adorable tshirt from Skip N’ Whistle makes the cut, especially when layered with my all-time favorite: chambray!

What are your favorite holiday traditions?

Tee: Reindeer Christmas Sweater c/o Skip N’ Whistle, Chambray: J.Crew Keeper Shirt, Pants: Joe’s Jeans Corduroy via Marshalls (similar), Necklace: local boutique find (similar)

That T-Shirt is Beautiful. I also love it layered on top of the Chambray. And gorgeous tree. I love the personalized ornaments. We did a couple of those this year, for the baby. =)

Stop by when you can. I’d love to see you by my blog. Thanks.

You are so cute in that christmas sweater. I definitely decorate the tree on my own.. I’m really particular about where each ornament goes, haha! My hushand is in charge of getting the tree into the stand and putting on the lights. ๐Ÿ™‚

we have our tree tradition too – it’s the celebrated birthday of my dog, since the day we adopted her is also the day we got our christmas tree 13 years ago, and we always listen to the charlie brown christmas special while we decorate it. traditions are what make the holidays special and meaningful, and i love them all.

We always decorate our tree together, too. It’s so nice to find ornaments that have meaning from past years and remember those memories while we hang them! I love that tee too – so adorable!
