COVERGIRL Bombshell Date Night Look

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I’ve been putting a lot of thought into what I want my overall look to be for my date night with my hubby. Maybe a little red dress? Some heels? Y’all know I tend to stick to the classics. But with my makeup, I really want to switch it up and amp up the sultriness factor with a smokey eye. To achieve the look, I tested out some new products– The new Bombshell Collection from COVERGIRL!covergirl bombshell collectionI sampled the Bombshell Shineshadow in Ooh La Lilac, the Bombshell Volume by Lashblast in Very Black, and the Bombshell Liner in Pitch Black. After putting on my basic foundation, concealer and blush, I snapped my “before” photo, which is close to my everyday look. For the office or running errands, I’d simply add mascara.basic foundation and blush every day lookBut as I mentioned, everyday is just not gonna cut it for date nights. So I grabbed the Shineshadow and got to applyin’. I first swept on a base of the cream using a back and forth motion. To create depth, I added an extra layer to the outer corner of my eyes by patting softly. Overall, I really liked the subtle shimmer. It’s completely different from what I normally wear. My only complaint was that it wasn’t as easy to blend with my fingers as I would have liked. After a little extra blending with a brush, I was happy with the result.pitch black bombshell linerNext I lined my eyes with the Bombshell Intensity Liner. I loved the super-fine tip of the liner. It wasn’t at all flimsy, which was great for creating an ultra slim and sharp line. Although I loved the easy of application, I was a little disappointed with the intensity of color. It wasn’t quite as dark as I’m used to with my typical gel liner. I used two coats to get my desired look.review covergirl bombshell mascaraFor the final touch I applied the Bombshell Volume by Lashblast mascara. I’m kind of a mascara snob and don’t bat an eye at shelling out $20+ for my favorite tube, but I was impressed with the Bombshell mascara! The color was an intense black, and I could definitely tell a difference in the volume and length of my lashes. If you’re not up for spending big bucks on mascara, then you need to give this one a try! I’d say it’s the best drugstore option I’ve tried.purple smokey eye bombshellSo what do you think?
