Holy wow. Thinking about being 30 weeks pregnant is kind of terrifying yet also a relief. I’m at the point in my pregnancy where the novelty is wearing a bit thin. I’m starting to miss being in control of my own body. That probably sounds weird, but it’s the best way I can describe it. I miss being able to go for run without feeling like I got hit by a Mack truck (yea, I learned my lesson this week) or being able to sleep through the night. I’d say the weather isn’t helping much either. It’s hot – like 100 degrees with thick, humid air hot, and I’m feeling exhausted pretty much nonstop again. At the same time, I’m not quite ready for baby to be here yet. So ultimately I’m really grateful we have a few more weeks to prepare! Okay, enough of my whining….
My little munchkin is weighing in around 3 lbs with a height of about 16 inches. I’m being a good little pregnant lady and making sure to do kick counts a couple times a day. She’s an active one, which is pretty reassuring.
I’m still doing fairly well in my own weight gain department, about 18 pounds, even with the pretty serious sugar cravings! My belly feels like it’s growing over night some days with my belly button taking on a whole new shape. And although I haven’t been swelling too much, most days I’ve only been wearing my wedding band out of paranoia. I tended to swell a bit in the heat pre-pregnancy, so I’m extra nervous that my rings will get stuck now!
Health-wise, everything is going smoothly. Outside of the exhaustion and nonstop heartburn (both of which are completely typical symptoms), I’m doing well. I had my glucose screening last week, and although it left me seriously sick (with sweats, shaking, and nearly passing out), I still passed with flying colors. No gestational diabetes here!
And probably the most exciting thing? Our progress on the nursery! We put the crib together last weekend and this weekend we’re tackling the dresser. I can’t wait to share the finished product!
You are looking great at 30 weeks! It seems to have flown by, won’t be long until you’re cuddling baby 🙂
being careful with your rings is a good idea – especially with the heat. Even with the weather cooling here it got to the stage I couldn’t get my rings off and on. Swelling all went away post-baby though, which is nice 🙂
Heartburn is supposed to mean they will have a full head of hair!!! You look beautiful!!I’m so excited for you!
Glad to hear you are doing well, or at least nothing out of the ordinary! I can’t wait to meet your lil one 🙂 Getting close!
You’re almost there! I imagine it must be extra difficult to be pregnant during the summer with the heat. Hope you’re staying inside in the AC!

You look amazing! Around 30 weeks was when I was seriously hoping for time to go faster, haha. It only gets harder (the exhaustion, needing to pee every minute, etc), but it’s all worth it! 🙂

Glad to hear things are going well! I totally didn’t think about the swelling fingers thing! My fingers swell when I sleep (I know, weird) so I don’t even wear my wedding bands to bed. I’ll probably need to wear mine around my neck whenever I’m preggo.
I bet the nursery is looking fantastic! I can’t wait to see picks. I’m glad you and the baby are doing so well!

I’m sorry you’re not feeling so great about being in control of your body! It will all be worth it in the end! Heartburn does suck though (and so does the exhaustion – I feel like I’ll never have energy again). Your little bump is adorable and that’s great that even though you’ve had sugar cravings you’ve only gained 18 lbs!
You are looking gorgeous and super healthy at 30 weeks Lauren. You are very little still – I was the same way with my daughter. All in all I gained about 22-23 lbs. Cannot wait till you share her room with us, as well.
It will all be worth it very soon! Unfortunately that slightly out of control feeling will be there till your baby at least sleeps through the night, which can be as early as a month though! (My daughter did at one month. My son at about 3 months. We were very into routines. Do whatever works for you.)
