Spicy Salsa Burgers

Since becoming pregnant, many things have changed from my wardrobe, to how Aaron and I spend our money, and even how we socialize with friends. Even though baby isn’t here yet, we’ve swapped happy hours and dinners out, favoring time spent at home cooking for ourselves or with family and friends.

One thing I was really missing though was the delicious gourmet burgers that I used to enjoy on our nights out. So in order to switch up our at-home grilling routine, I picked up MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Burgers, MorningStar Farms Grillers California Turk’y Veggie Burgers, and as many Southwestern-style toppings I could get my hands on. gourmet burger toppings

I decided that a Spicy Salsa Burger was definitely in order. To start, I made my own homemade salsa using two cans of Rotel (I prefer spicy, but mild works just as well for less of a kick!), a small handful of cilantro chopped, one diced jalapeño and one third of a white onion chopped.

Since spicy salsa might not be for everyone, I also laid out red onion, tomato, avocado, pepper jack and provolone cheese.

quick gourmet burgersI’d say the gourmet burgers were a major success. My black bean burger topped with pepper jack cheese, a slice of avocado, and piled high with fresh salsa was pretty incredible! gourmet salsa burger
The best part? The total prep and cook time only took about 15 minutes. This will definitely be a recipe I can handle in between quick baby naps! And I can’t wait to try other gourmet options in the future with the versatile MorningStar Farms veggie burgers!

I like seeing recipes on here! It’s different. Also I just tried the Mediterranean burgers from morning star and they are awesome.

I totally would have had mine just like yours, salsa, avocado and that cheese that looks scrumptiously delicious. I definitely am a fan of piling stuff on my burger, I love mushrooms and caramelized onions, I mean i grew up in Colombia, if you Google Colombian hot-dog you’ll know what I’m talking about, keep piling the goodies. Now I need to try the BB burger.
