This Winter was a little too long, too cold, and too snowy. I was suffering from some major cabin fever. Anyone else? But now that the warm weather is officially here to stay, I’m embracing all things Spring. I’m saying “sí” to longer days, outdoor meals, and drinking wine on our back deck. Wine is always a favorite of ours regardless of the season, but I swear it just tastes better in springtime, don’t you think?
Over the weekend, Aaron and I had our own little Spring vacation in the backyard. While cooking some steaks on the grill, we popped open a bottle of Ribera Del Duro Tempranillo (a bold, ripe red varietal).
We snacked on sharp cheddar and grapes while cooking. (I always find that a hard cheese is perfect for bold reds! And grapes and cheese are a perfect match, dontcha think?) For dinner, we paired grilled asparagus with the steak, which could not have been better with the wine!
I loved the Tempranillo. It was so smooth and easy to drink. Now I can’t wait to taste the Rueda Verdejo (a white grape varietal) next weekend!
