Here’s a secret you might not know about me: I’m a beauty product junkie. I can tend to get set in a makeup routine, but after a few months I like to switch it up and try new things. (And this is probably why I have a glitter purple caboodle circa 1994 stuffed to the brim with products. And that doesn’t even count the multiple makeup bags full of lipgloss and lipstick, but I digress.) I thought it would be fun to share with you a few of the items that are new (or new-ish) to me that I’ve been loving this Summer. So without further ado let me break out my caboodle. 😉
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream
This was a product I consistently heard a lot of buzz about, but I finally ordered it this Spring. With the SPF 50, I knew it was a perfect time to try it so that I wouldn’t have to layer as many products in the Summer heat. (Nobody wants a melting makeup sliding off their face, right?!) Now I understand all the hype. I LOVE it. It goes on smoothly has great longevity even in the heat. One thing I will say is that the coverage is pretty full. I figured it would be lighter with the CC Cream name and was surprised when I tried it. Not a bad thing at all, just not what I was expecting at first. (For reference I mix Tan and Medium to make a slightly darker shade for Summer but will go back to Medium once my tan fades a bit.)
Ok, so this isn’t new to me, but it is one of my all-time favorites so it deserves a mention. I use it solely as coverage for my dark circles and it makes such a huge difference! The “radiant” name definitely fits this product. It leaves my under eyes bright and with a glow. (For reference I typically wear Custard during Summer and Vanilla the rest of the year.)
Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo
I received this blush c/o but I promise I wouldn’t mention it if I didn’t sincerely love it and I do. The compact contains two different shades – one more of a highlight color and the other your classic blush. I love how the colors blend for a radiant, luminous flush. The powder is so creamy and applies beautifully as well. And the packaging is pretty cute too. Thumbs up! (For reference I have the color Kink & Kisses.)
Previously I had been using Anastasia Brow Wiz and loved it, but I felt like I was going through them fairly quickly and searched for a dupe. The Define-A-Brow is definitely a close contender. It doesn’t come in nearly the amount of colors as Brow Wiz and the consistency is slightly more waxy/less creamy, but it’s a fourth of the price and works really well. I love how fine the tip is! (For reference I use shade Medium Brown.)
Mary Kay Translucent Setting Powder
This is another item I received as a sample waaaay back, but I have been using it daily since I received it. I love how it blurs my pores, eliminates shine, and just gives my skin an overall soft glow. For the price (under $16), it’s so worth it because it lasts forEVER. Also the packaging is awesome. It has a lock to separate the product, which is a must for loose powder (especially for travel).
I’m kind of a mascara aficionada, so I’ve tried a LOT of different mascaras and this mascara primer is a holy grail. It conditions the lashes while also lengthening and thickening before you even put on mascara. It is a bit pricey, but I promise that even if you use it with drugstore mascara, you will see huge results! I currently use it with one coat of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and the combination is perfection.
I’ve been receiving a lot of questions on my Insta photos lately about my lipstick, so these deserve a mention. I’ve been wearing a lot of neutrals, and the two NYX Lingerie shades I have are some of my favs. I own Bedtime Flirt and Exotic. The colors are nicely pigmented and apply easily. My only complaint is that they are a bit sticky before drying and can be a bit drying on the lips (like many mattes). Overall I really like them and plan to buy more shades. They are SO affordable!
Wow, this ended up being much longer than I thought it would be. I hope enjoyed this post. Please, please leave me a comment and let me know what products you’re loving because Lord knows that caboodle needs to be emptied and refilled with some new goodies! 😉

I’m going to have to try the define-a-brow now, because I’ve been hooked on the brow wiz as well, but it sure is pricey and you do use it up very quickly.
So my summer foundation has been the clinique even better foundation. It has medium to light coverage I would say, but leaves you with a nice dewy glow.
Thanks for the tips & the caboodle reference, totally had a sparkly blue one!
