While visiting my family in California, my sister and I were scouring the web for cute crafts and fun, easy recipes. And that’s when I saw it: white hot chocolate. Some of them were died blue for Frozen or green for The Grinch. And I knew that we could make the cutest Valentine’s Day recipe ever: pink hot chocolate! Not only is this recipe delicious, it’s so easy to make. Just tell me what girl or little one wouldn’t want to sip on pink hot chocolate?! Shoot, I’m in my thirties, and I was downright giddy to try it!
So naturally, as sisters do, we decided that an immediate trip to Target was in order. We spent way too much time (probably at least 20 minutes ?) debating between which Valentine’s Day mugs we needed along with our ingredients. And then as we were heading to the checkout line, we found these adorable ones in the dollar section. Sigh. Always check the dollar section, y’all!
Once we got to cooking, I was so impressed with how quick and easy it was to throw everything together! Just about 15 minutes start to finish!
Ingredients
- 4 cups of milk (OR 2 cups milk and 2 cups of half and half for a thicker, creamier version)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 8 oz. white chocolate chips
- food coloring (to your liking)
- toppings! (whipped cream, marshmallows, sprinkles)
Directions
Add milk, half and half (if using!), vanilla extract, and white chocolate chips into a medium sauce pan on medium heat. Stir occasionally until heated to your desired temperature. Do not allow the mixture to reach a boil! Add food coloring. (We added about 3-4 drops!) Serve, add desired toppings, and enjoy!
This pink hot chocolate recipe yields about 3-4 cups, depending on your mug size. (For our giant mugs it was about 3!)
Of course this recipe would be perfect for any color of hot chocolate, but does it get any prettier than this pink? I think not. 😉
Be sure to share with all of your pink-lovin’, hot chocolate drinkin’ friends! And let me know if you try it out!
This looks adorable! Perfect for Valentine’s Day 🙂

This is the cutest Galentine’s Day drink idea – although I may add a little bit of marshmallow vodka to make it extra fun 😉 I love the fact that it’s such a fun pink, and you chose the most adorable mugs to make it in! I’ll be pinning this for later!
