Ok y’all. Here it is: my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 reviews post! I braved opening day with a toddler (and an ipad with loaded with Bubble Guppies 😉) to try on as many of my favs that I could find in store for ya! If you caught my Instagram stories, then a lot of these will be familiar. BUUUUT, some of these pieces are new too! Gotta have a few surprises, right?! I’ll do my best to provide sizing and all that, but if you have any questions, feel free to comment or reach out to me! Alright, leeeeet’s go!
This outfit is 100% something I’d wear come Fall. (In fact, I know you’ve seen variations of it on the blog before!) I tried both the tee and the plaid top on in a medium. Both are great basics and pieces you can wear all Fall and Winter. Also these jeans, y’all. They were my absolute FAV I tried on (so soft, plenty of stretch). And they’re only $38. You’ll see them plenty more in this post! Fit on the jeans is a bit big in the waist. I’d suggest sizing down one size.
This little dress is a great throw-on-and-go piece. It’s like a light sweatshirt material, but not too thick! I would wear this now with a pair of slip on sneakers (or really any sneakers)! Later, I’d wear it with booties and a blanket scarf. You could even layer it up with some leggings! I tried it in a medium. Fit is TTS.
Ruffle Sleeve Dress (under $30!)
This cardi was my FAV cardigan that I tried on. Online I kept going back and forth whether I should order it or not, but it’s a keeper: SO SOFT, cute drape, covers the bootie. It comes in two colors. I am in a medium!
I also tried a lace cami. (It also comes in black and white.) I love a good lace cami and sweater combo, so I had to try this one on. Fit is just a tiiiiny bit small, and the top has little to no stretch. If you’re in between sizes, I’d say to size up. I’m in a medium, but I needed a large for my bust.
I really liked the length of this oversized cuffed sweater. It is long enough to wear with leggings, and that is always a win, no? I’m in a medium! I’d recommend staying TTS if you want to wear with leggings. And speaking of leggings, these from Zella are THE BESSSSST. I ordered a pair last year, and got a new pair this year. They’re a nice weight and can be worn for working out or casually. The high waist cut also really sucks everything in. They are a MUST!
Ok, if you want a trendy, statement-maker piece, this embroidered jacket is IT. It is soooo gorgeous, y’all. The fit is a little small though. I’m in a medium, but I ordered a large. Also how cute is it with this lace tank: TTS, I’m in a medium. (Scroll down a few for a better look at the tank!)
This top came home with me. How stinkin’ cute is that bow?!! The tie is adjustable so you can make the fit more or less boxy. Fit is TTS. I’m in a medium.
Here is that cardi I’m obsessed with again. This time I paired it with this bodycon dress. I’m wearing the dress in a large here, and honestly it was still a bit too fitted for my taste! But if you love bodycon fit, then this is def a winner! I love that you could also get lots of wear out of it now! Wear it solo or with a cute kimono this Summer!
If you want an unbasic tee, this one is a great option! Honestly though I didn’t love how the tee looked from different angles. It’s sooo cute from the front, but I didn’t love it from the side. Just something to think about! Fit is TTS. I’m in a medium.
This off shoulder “button up” is so unique. I couldn’t resist trying it. I didn’t really love it on me, and I couldn’t think of many times I’d personally wear it. BUT if you go out on the weekends or have dinners with friends, I think this would be so cute. I envision it with black jeans and some espadrilles or heels! I’m in a medium. If you’re busty, you probably need to size up.
All of these pieces were winners for me! This plaid top is the least expensive of the plaid top options at $31. It comes in several different colors, but the red and this black and white are my favs. Fit is a bit oversized. I’m in a medium.
Now onto the tee. It’s nothing remarkable, but it is a great basic. What I did like a lot about it was the split hem. You can see it better in the picture with the adidas leggings below! Fit is nicely oversized. I’m in a medium.
Lastly the jeans: if you’re looking for a tailored boyfriend style I reeeeally liked these. They had a nice amount of room, but were still fitted enough. If you want a closer fit, you could definitely size down.
THIS THERMAL. I know it doesn’t look at that exciting, but I actually REALLY liked it! It has a nice drape, is soft, and is perfect for layering. It comes in four colors, but this oatmeal was a must for me. (TTS. I’m in a medium.)
Thermal tee ($24!)
For all of you girly girls who feel like you can’t pull off the military trend, this jacket is for you! It’s actually a nice light weight, making it a great transition piece. Be sure to size down. I tried it on in a medium and it was too wide.
Both this tank and this cardigan came home with me. You can’t tell from this pic, but the tank has a split hem and the perfect flattering drape. Also this cardi felt almost like a waffle knit material. You know why I love that? No pilling!! (I’m in a small tank, medium cardi.)
And the jeans. These are the same brand (Articles of Society) as the dark wash skinny jeans that I’m obsessed with. If you wanted a trendier version, these are perfect!
I felt pretty “meh” about these jeans when I tried them on. But then my sister saw them on me and thought they were the cutest thing ever. I think I just didn’t love where the crop hit me. (I am 5’7″.) If you want designer boyfriend jeans, def check these out!
Want a wear-now dress that you’ll also use this Fall? This midi dress is adorable and flattering! It also has the cutest cut out back. For later I could see it with a draped vest or cozy cardi! (Fit is TTS. I’m in a medium.)
Midi Dress ($33!)
Here is a better look at that lace front tank that I also wore with the moto jacket. It is seriously so pretty. This another great “wear now, wear later” piece! Fit is TTS!
I LOVE the color of this cardi. I already have one this exact shade and I was shocked how much I wore it last year! The really long length also makes it perfect for leggings. And speaking of leggings: these are also by Zella. Y’all I am OBSESSSSSED. It’s kind of hard to tell in this photo, but they have moto detailing and mesh panels. Check out the website’s product shots because they are seriously SO FREAKIN’ FAB. They have the same fit as the other Zella ones: high waisted, suck everything in, basically magical. 😉
If you want a pair of trendy leggings, you’ll want to check these out for $25. They are a cotton material, which really makes them better for loungewear or athleisure looks. I bought these in a medium, but I’m considering taking them back for a large. If you are in between sizes, I’d say size up! Also this is a better look at that $15 tee! Love that split hem.
And another loungewear/athleisure option! These cropped joggers are so cute! I picked them up to try on on a whim and was surprised how much I really liked them! I’m not a sweatpants-outside-the-house kinda gal, but I could definitely see myself wearing these out with sneakers and a tee!
PHEW. That’s all for now. I will be updating this post if I find anything else noteworthy to share with you, so keep checking back! And don’t miss my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Best of the Best post here!
