Is anyone else just jonesing to wear Fall clothes because of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?! ??My orders are just starting to trickle in, but Fall outfits still seem like forever away. I live in the south, and it’s going to be warm for a quite a while still! But that doesn’t mean that I’m not going to get some wear out of a few of those Fall items! (I don’t think I could stand keeping new unworn clothes in my closet for months!!) Today is all about how to wear a cardigan for Summer!
I’m kind of a naturally cold person. So although I emptied my closet of all my heavy sweaters and winter clothes, I always still keep a few select cardigans around. They are perfect for layering over pretty much everything. Wearing a cardigan really doesn’t seem that out of place for me regardless of the time of year.
I picked up this pretty blush cardigan (along with the booties and the tank!) from the Anniversary Sale and knew it’d be perfect for now through Spring! I loved how it paired with a tank and cut off shorts. If it gets really warm, I just wrap and tie it around my waist! But shorts aren’t the only way you can wear it now. Cardigans are also perfect to throw on over a tank dress for cooler evenings or to just wear indoors. And I also love wearing them with a long tee and leggings, regardless of the time of year! (In fact, I just traveled in this cardi over the weekend and you can see that outfit here!) How else do you wear cardigans during the Summer?

Love the blush colour of your cardi, it’s great with the shorts! 🙂
It’s good you can get some early wear from your winter pieces too – it’s so hot here in summer it’s really not possible to do that! I do get to wear most of my summer pieces year-round though, so it balances out 🙂
Thank you for the link up!
Hope you have had a great weekend and are having a nice start to the week!

Blush is definitely one of your colors! Great match with today’s shorts outfit.
I love to have cardis in my closet all year around. I live in the northwest in the mountains and hardly a day goes by that I can’t wear one at some point. Your outfit is so cute! Peace!

I’m from the frigid north and when bloggers start promoting fall clothes in July, it’s upsetting to us northerners because we’ve only had one month of warm weather so far and just want to live in the moment and enjoy it before colder temps return for 9 months again. But, I am like you in that I do keep cardigans handy for air conditioned buildings and chillier days. Believe it or not, even though it’s late July, we still were in the sixties just a few days ago. I like the color of your cardigan. It’s one of my tricks to wear lighter colors in my sweaters if I have to dress warm.
That’s a beautiful cardigan! Looks great with the summer outfit, and I know it’ll be great in fall.
Thanks for the linkup & Happy Monday!
That cardigan is really cute, and I usually keep a few around for the summer as well, you never know when you are going to be in a cold building and need one.

I love wearing booties and shorts with a cami and cardi to transition to fall. Luckily I live in the mountains and it is already cool enough to wear them. We had a high of 69 yesterday. Fall is just around the corner and it is so fun to see everyone’s looks! You look fabulous! Peace!
