Hey, guys! It’s your resident lipstick hoarder here! And I am seriously SO excited to bring you today’s post. Besides my clothes, the number one question that continually comes up is, “what lipstick are you wearing?” Lipstick is one of my favorite ways to change my look up, probably because it’s inexpensive and so easy! That’s also probably why I have at least 15 of ’em rolling around in my purse right now. But I digress… Lately I’ve been trying a bunch of different autumnal options out, and I’ve finally found a few favorites! So here it is: my best drugstore Fall Lipsticks!
For Fall, I went with a range of neutrals to berry tones. While red is an always-classic option, I just love going with more burgundy or purple-based bolds for the season.
Since a few of them ended up photographing a little bit brighter than they appear in real life, I also included these swatches on my arm for you. For some reason, these seem to be a bit more true-to-color. So be sure to reference this along with my lip photos to get an impression of what they’re really like!
First off, let me say that my love for NYX Liquid Suede Creams runs deep. You’ll see a few of them on this list because the formula is just GOOD. It is probably my all-time favorite drugstore matte lip product! But onto the shade… Sandstorm is a really pretty nude. It is slightly brown-based but it doesn’t really show up on my skin tone that way. This is one of my favorite everyday colors that almost looks like it isn’t there.
If you have checked my Insta feed in the past two months or so, you’ve seen this color ALL over it. I can’t stop wearing Soft Spoken! The color is so pretty on. It’s a little more pink than Sandstorm but is still a super-pretty nude color. If you want a slightly less brown neutral, this is for you.
This is my first-ever Slip Tease product. I snagged it at Ulta because NYX almost always gets me. The formula is really amazing. They call it a color oil, and it does feel so hydrating on the lips! If you hate matte formulas for being too drying, you have to try Slip Tease. The finish is a satin-matte, and again it’s so comfortable to wear on the lips.
As far as the color goes, Entice is a pretty brownish purple color. I didn’t have anything like this in my collection, which is surprising considering I buy the same dang shades over and over again! But I really like it! I’ve received tons of compliments in person, which made me feel great about branching out a bit!
Vintage is a deep burgundy shade that is just beautiful on. If you want a bold look for Fall, seriously look no further! The finish is matte, even though it looks a little glossy in the photo. Unfortunately I think I just snapped it before it dried. Impatient, party of one over here!
Ok, this formula is also a new find. I already told y’all how much I love the liquid suede creams, but this is the metallic formula! Metallics are huge in makeup right now, so I had to try it out! Let me tell ya: this is the longest-wearing lipstick ever. Like I put it on at 3 and my lips were still stained at 9 pm. Don’t put this on and plan on changing lipstick because Micellar water and face wash did nothing to remove it!
The color is really beautiful. It’s actually a lot like Vintage (#4) but with a metallic finish. Although it may not look like it in the photos, the metallic is very visible! If you prefer a more muted look, I’d say skip this one. If you want a bold, trendy look, this is it!!
This Maybelline matte formula is really nice. It glides on easily and doesn’t feel to dry on the lips. As far as regular ole lipstick (as opposed to liquid versions!) this was is a favorite. I feel like the name describes the color really well. It’s kind of pink, but it has a bit of a nutmeg brown undertone!
Revlon calls this a matte, but it really isn’t a true matte. I still like the formula though! The color is vibrant but doesn’t apply completely opaque. You might have to apply another layer if you want 100% full coverage! Infatuation is the prettiest cranberry color. So much of my wardrobe is this color right now, so of course I love it on my lips too!
As far as liquid mattes go, NYX’s Soft Matte Cream is my second favorite formula. It’s not quite as good as the Liquid Suede but it comes close. Budapest is a little bit berry-toned, a little bit pink. It’s perfect for someone who wants a Fall color without going super-dark or vampy!
On my lip photo, this color somehow looks so bright and pink but in person it’s not! It is the brightest of all of the shades, but it appears more berry-toned than pink in real life. Like I mentioned, the soft matte creams are my second fav because they are a little less full coverage!
Ok, if pumpkin spice were a lipstick, I’m telling ya: it would be this lipstick! The shade Bella is another one of the metallic versions and it is so pretty. It’s the perfect coppery shimmer that is just gorgeous in person! For Fall, I feel like this one is a must.
