My love for stripes runs deeeeep. And I think my long-time obsession has to do with more than just fashion. It wasn’t until I put this striped sweater outfit together that it all finally clicked!

Does anyone get a major retro vibe from this sweater? It took me a while to figure out exactly what it reminded me of, but then it donned on me: FRUIT STRIPE GUM. ? I was obsessed as a little girl. I loved the bright colors and fruit flavors, even if the gum lost its flavor in about 2.5 seconds. And this sweater totally reminds me of the wrapper and striped gum strips!! Please tell me someone knows what I talking about!! Anyway, seeing it for the first time gave me a major feeling of nostalgia, and I couldn’t help myself.

I will say as a warning: this sweater is a little itchy. If you have sensitive skin at all, I’d avoid it. But I was so in love with it, I was willing to work with it. You can easily layer with a tank of tee if the itchiness bothers you. But I actually didn’t notice it after I had it on for a moment! Just wanted to warn y’all in case that’s a deal-breaker! Clearly I’ll do anything for a cute stripe sweater! Similarly 9-year-old me would do anything for Fruit Stripe Gum! ?

As far as sizing goes, I’m wearing a small in the sweater. I almost always size down in Free People; however, I think if you wanted a little baggier look that FP is known for, you could stay TTS! For the jeans, I sized up one size. There isn’t much stretch! And lastly, I sized down for the sneakers. They run large!
