May Trunk Club Review

It’s that time again– time for another Trunk Club review! I just received my May Trunk Club shipment earlier this week, and I am pumped to share with y’all because this trunk is one of my favorites yet! If you’re wondering what Trunk Club is and how it works, I’ll be explaining that all next! If you know how it works, go ahead and scroll down to see the try-on session and reviews!

What is Trunk Club?

Trunk Club is an online service, where a personal stylist (you can request mine here!) helps you select items based on your style preferences. You fill out a style profile that includes your sizing, your favorite colors, types of clothing you’re looking for, and your price preferences. Then you connect with your personal stylist, who asks more in depth questions (via chat or phone!) about what exactly you need and want.

The stylist selects items for you and sends you a preview. You have 48 hours to review the items and remove any that aren’t your taste. (OR remove if you already have similar items! I was amazed how well my stylist nailed my style. There were several items I had to switch out because I already owned them!!)

Then your trunk is shipped to you (fo’ free because that’s how Nordies rolls). You can try on all the pieces in the comfort of your own home. Keep what you like, ship back what you don’t. (Again for free!)

If you are a Nordstrom cardholder, the service is free. For non-cardholders, there is a service charge of $25. But if you purchase anything in your trunk, the fee is applied to your purchase.

Phew. Hopefully, I explained that well enough! Let’s get on to the items!!

May Trunk Club Review + Try-on!

And now let’s get to the clothes, shall we?! Just as a reminder, I am currently around 6.5 months pregnant. Pre-pregnancy I was a pretty solid medium in most of Nordstrom’s brands. I’ll be sharing sizing information for each piece as we go!

Sleeveless Ruched Dress

I actually own this dress in the long sleeve version! (You can see how I’ve worn it on the blog here pre-pregnancy and how I wore it earlier during pregnancy here!) Unfortunately, my stylist sent it to me in a size medium. Even pre-pregnancy I had sized up to the large for a more relaxed fit. So, with the bump, it’s even more body-con! It’s still super-cute, but I would definitely need the size large!

Dress (medium, but I would prefer a large. SIZE UP ONE!) – On sale under $35!!

Tank Dress

This is a piece I specifically requested from my stylist. (Yes, you can do that with items on Nordstrom.com!!) I had seen it on a few other bloggers and thought it’d be such a comfy, easy dress to have in my wardrobe. When I requested it, I asked for a size large. It’s a relaxed fit dress as it is, so I should have stayed with a medium. It comes in seven colors and is a must in my opinion! It could be worn sporty with sneakers, relaxed and summery with slides, or even as a pool/beach coverup over your suit! Bonus: it is super-soft!

Dress (large, but I would prefer medium. STAY TTS!)

Jumpsuit

Y’all know I’m into jumpsuits now. πŸ˜‰Β This one, unfortunately for me, is not at all bump-friendly. The elastic waistband hits at the natural waist rather than an empire waist cut, which creates a major front wedgie situation that no one wants to see. πŸ˜‚Β I couldn’t find the exact one online, but there is a super-similar short sleeve version by the same designer available. It also comes in plus sizing.

Tie-Back Dress

This dress is so stinkin’ adorable, and I wanted to love it! Here is the thing: it’s kind of heavy. If you live in a warmer climate, then this dress is probably not for you. For those of you who have cooler summers, snap this up! I couldn’t believe how cute the details are. The ruffled waistline is flattering, and of course I love the bow back! Sizing runs a bit big! Very bump-friendly!

Cat Eye Sunglasses

These were an instant Y-E-S. I love me some oversized sunglasses and these are unlike anything I currently own. They are a lilac/gray frosted frame, but they also come in pink! At the price point, ($14!!) you can’t go wrong. These are the perfect frames for everyday/hitting the pool or beach.

Long Sleeve Tee

I actually own this tee already… in three colors! πŸ˜‚ My stylist sent it to me in a size medium, but I own the small. Honestly: sizing-wise, I could easily go either way. I like how this one is a bit drapier, but the small works too. I’d recommend sizing down for those who aren’t expecting.

Slides

I live for easy slides like this, especially now that I’m expecting. (No one has time for struggling to bend over and tie laces, y’all. πŸ˜‚) I loved the style of these and the cushion-y footbed, but they weren’t the easiest to walk in. I mean, they weren’t like walking in heels or anything, but I have more comfortable slides. So, these went back.

Ruched Midi Skirt

If you love t-shirts and t-shirt dresses, then this skirt is probably for you! It’s just as soft and comfortable as a tee. The ruched side is also flattering. I’m in a medium, and although it fit, I probably would have preferred the large for a less bodycon fit on the booty. πŸ˜‰

White Birkenstocks

These were the second item I specifically requested from my stylist, and y’all, I loved them even more than I thought I would. If you buy one casual sandal this summer, I truly, 100% think it should be these! I have two pairs of Birkenstocks, but these are already my favorite pair! They are super lightweight and made of a rubbery-type material. These are the type of shoes you can get wet with no issues. I just wore them to the splash pad earlier this week and loved ’em for that. I’ll be wearing them to the pool and beach instead of flip flops. They’re also perfect for playing out in the backyard because I can spray them off if needed! And they are just as comfy, if not more, than my other pairs. Pluuus, they look like standard Birks! I’ve also worn them with a dress this week. At $40, I want alllll the colors. (They come in 6 color options!!)

Maxi Dress

I love easy, breezy maxi dresses like this for summer. This is the perfect option to pair with a lace-y bralette of even your favorite bathing suit. It has a relaxed fit, but I like that! It makes it so light and comfortable as well as laid-back chic. I also really love the stripe print! This one is a winner for sure!
