Target Universal Thread Spring Try-On

Y’all, I feel like this is almost a sin to admit, but before yesterday I hadn’t shopped the new Target clothing lines…at all. Part of it was probably pregnancy-related, but I’ve also been quickly passing the clothing section by during most of my trips. I don’t know where this new-found will power came from, but I finally broke my streak. Since we’re headed out of town, I always like to have an extra dress or outfit just in case. So, I packed up all the snacks for Layla, crossed my fingers for toddler cooperation, and went in for a Target Universal Thread spring try-on session!

I was actually super-impressed with the pieces and ended up bringing home two for our trip! I also took video of each piece as well that I’ll be posting to Insta Stories later today. So if you want to see how they move and fit in video, be sure to check out my Instagram!

Off Shoulder Top

This top is one that caught my eye over several flies by the clothing section, so it was one of the first pieces I grabbed! It also comes in yellow and white, but Layla insisted that orange was the best color. I think she was right. It’s so beautiful on! I tried on a large and found the fit to be pretty oversized. It wasn’t a fit for me. (It was a little too short with the bump!) But, I would still recommend it to those not expecting or early in pregnancy.

Jumpsuit

On the hanger, this jumpsuit looked a little more empire waist, which I thought would work with the bump. Upon actually trying it on, it was a bust. Buuut for those not currently pregnant, I think it’s so cute! It also comes in plus size. For reference, I’m 5’7″, and even with the bump, it almost came to the floor. So, it’d probably be on the longer side for shorter ladies!

Button Front Dress

I loved this dress so much. The color, which is such a pretty watermelon red, is so gorgeous! Even though it has a stretchy panel back, it was still pulling around the buttons. I don’t think the pulling was pregnancy-related because of where it was, so it might not work for super-busty ladies. But one of y’all needs to buy this so I can live vicariously through you! It also comes in black.

Blue Maxi Dress

This is another dress that appeared more empire waist before trying it on. Honestly, it was probably my least favorite thing I tried on. The color was really pretty and I loved the double strap detail, but it fit large and just didn’t work on me. If you are going to try it, I’d recommend sizing down for sure! It also comes in olive green.

Black Sundress

Check out the hemline on this one! Y’all, it is so so cute in person. It also has a stretchy back panel, making it super-comfortable, and it’s lined! The length is also perfect. If you have kids, you won’t have to worry about bending over and getting down on the ground. It’s also a bit of a dressier option. I would wear this to graduations, showers, or just everyday on the weekends!

Chambray Maternity Jumpsuit

I had to at least try one maternity piece, and this chambray jumpsuit of course caught my eye. I tried it in a small and thought it fit really nicely. So, you might need to size down one. I loved that it’s also nursing friendly! (Check out the second set of pictures to see the tiny zipper under the ruffle!) The only thing that gave me pause was the length. I’d definitely need to wear it with espadrilles or a heeled sandal to make it work on me. (Again I’m 5’7″!)

Black Printed Maxi

This maxi was an instant yes for me. It’s the perfect relaxed-chic, throw-on-and-go piece that I live for. It’s very bump-friendly, but would work on a variety of shapes and sizes. This is another option that also comes in plus!

Black Tie-Front Dress

Another winner! This dress is a linen blend that is perfect for warmer weather. It has an elastic panel in the back and the tie-front is also adjustable! I actually tightened it after taking these photos and liked the fit even better afterwards. There was no pulling at all with the buttons. This is such a great figure-flattering option! And pockets, y’all. Need I say more?!
