It’s officially here: the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018, y’all! Today it launches for cardholders, and it will be open to the public, starting July 20! I know it’s one of the most hotly-anticipated sales of the year since it features all-new merchandise! But it also can be so overwhelming to weed through. So, today we’re starting with the basics: everyday staples from the Anniversary Sale under $50. These are the most affordable pieces that will be your go-to over the coming months!

Denim under $50
Finding a great pair of jeans under $50 is not a pipe dream with the Anniversary Sale! There are plenty of options! My top recommendation is anything by Articles of Society. (They start at $41!) The Sarah are a favorite classic cut, which come in several washes. But there also some trendier options too. STS Blue is one of the most affordable lines, starting at $38. Of course BP. has their own options (see #10!). I love how soft they are! And new-to-me brand 1822 Denim has some great-looking options (see #16) that I can’t wait to try in person! They start at $28! Crazy, right?!
Sweaters under $50
Sweaters and cardigans are always one of my most favorite things to pick up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Stripes, colorblocking and varsity-style stripes seem to be the top trends! Topshop’s #6 instantly caught my eye but BP. also has a similar version for about $10 less. This off shoulder sweater (#5) is also another one of my favorites! As far as cardigans, I own last year’s version of this one and still love it! (It comes in 4 color options!) But it now comes in a short sleeve (#12!) The preppy vibes of #13 are so fun, and I’m also really into the grandpa-style cardigan (#15)! It’s only $38! #8 is the cardigan I’m most excited to see in person. I love the waffle-knit texture! If you’re looking for a longer option, Leith has a great midi option I’m planning on picking up as well.
Tops under $50
If you need a few basic tops, now is the time to snag them! I own several of these Caslon tees (#4). They hold up beautifully and come in so many color options! If you need a long sleeve version, I buy one or two of these from BP. (#17) every year too! (They’re only $18!) I also love the look of these basic BP. lace-trim camisoles (#18). You can wear them now and into the Fall with jackets and cardigans! If you want a slightly more embellished cami, check out these from WAYF! One of the tops I’m most excited about is this one from Free People (#1)! It’s so rare to find anything Free People under $50, and this thermal comes in several color options! The January Tee from FP is also on sale for $31! I own them in three colors and recommend sizing down one. The Anniversary Sale is also a great time to pick up a few plaid tops as well. I love the options from Treasure & Bond (#19) and BP.!
Dresses under $50
For dress basics, there are some great sale options! I can’t wait to try this Caslon plaid dress! There are also several bodycon options, which make great for layering and transitioning from summer to fall. Wear them now with kimonos and then swap them out for cardigans, jackets, and plaid tops come fall. Leith has a midi version and a sweater-style, and BP. has a ruched one! I’m also pumped to try this tie-waist t-shirt dress!
Shoes and Accessories under $50
If you’re on the hunt for an affordable pair of Fall shoes, these open mules (#3) are at the top of my list. They come in four color options, but I love the blush version. These Converse (#11) are a year-round staple! You can wear them with everything from shorts to sundresses to denim come Fall! I also love these slides (#14)! They come in four colors, but I’m feeling this mustard color!
Sole Society has a couple of great bag options, but this backpack (#2) is my top pick! And you can’t miss out on the adorable affordable scarf options! I’m snagging this plaid poncho (#7), but this one from Madewell (#9) and this one from Treasure & Bond are both on my wish list as well.
