It’s been a while since I went into an H&M to shop, but I gotta tell ya: they are killing it in the sweater department! I actually went to the dressing room two separate times to try everything on! After the first round, Ellie was passed out, and I knew I had a few more minutes! And I cleaned up, y’all! Get ready for over 25 items in today’s fall H&M try on session!!
As far as sizing goes, I’m 5’7.5″ and currently a size 10/30 in pants and a medium in tops. Pretty much everything I tried on was in a medium, but I will list what size I’m wearing beneath each photo should you have any questions about sizing!
And I’m also doing something a little different this time! I partnered with my friend Lauren McBride! She also tried on a few of the same items. I’ll share a side-by-side photo for the items we both tried, so y’all can see them on a different body type! She is an XS! Also, be sure to check out her post here to see everything she tried!
Fall H&M Try On Session
The first thing I tried was a winner! I love that the texture is a bit bolder but the color is a beautiful classic neutral– kind of the best of trendy and classic! The neck is ovular in shape, which creates a slightly mock neck, but it’s not at all tight around the neck. It’s also incredibly comfortable and not itchy. The sleeves are dropped and the fit is relaxed. Fit is TTS. This one came home with me!
Super-soft and lightweight, this sweater is perfect for pairing with leggings! I’m a little on the tall side, so I would probably size up one to a large to wear with leggings. The medium covered my booty, but I’d like a little extra length! Comes in five colors!
Another textured sweater and another winner. I liked the light weight of this one– it’s not too bulky. It’s also perfect for tucking and layering. I’m wearing a medium and fit is TTS. It also comes in gray and black! This one came home with me!
I had seen this one online and went looking for it in store! I love the gold color, but it does come in two other colors. Fit is oversized and wide and it’s longer in the back. You could size down one, but I’d stay TTS. Just a warning: it does have a little bit of an itch factor. So, if you’re sensitive, skip it!
A fun twist on the classic cable knit sweater! Fit is boxy through the body and pretty wide in the arms. I would definitely size down in this one to make it a bit more flattering. (I’m in a medium but would prefer the small.)
Can y’all tell that I liked the textured sweaters? I love the slimmer cut to this one! It’s still roomy for layering but the cut doesn’t add any bulk. It also has slit pockets as opposed to front ones, making it a bit more dressy. You can see it styled again with a lace cami further down!
As far as sweaters for leggings go, this was one of my favorites I tried on. Again, it has a cool texture and the v-design of the ribbing is super figure-flattering! I tried both the small and medium on and preferred the small. Size down one!
If you don’t love oversized tunic sweaters, this is a great option. Y’all, this one was SO SOFT. 100% it was the softest one I tried on. Fit is still a little boxy but a lot slimmer than the others I tried on!

Since I didn’t love the other cable knit one on me, I grabbed this one to try too! It was also pretty big in the midsection. This style is more of a balloon sweater, coming out in the middle and more fitted at the bust and hip. Size down for a more flattering fit. (I’m in a medium but would prefer the small.)
I own this sweater in two colors already! I bought them last year and wore them a ton. (See me style the gray one here!) This is my top pick for tunic length sweaters. It’s lightweight, very soft and so comfortable. I’d recommend staying with your true size.
I always find the stripes, y’all. ?This one was another boxy sweater with wider arms. Front-tucked like I had it here didn’t look bad, but I just found the arms too unflattering on me to buy it. I wish I had had time to try the small because I do love the thin stripe and the length!

Another cozy, soft option! This one is made of the same material as the tunic turtleneck I love. It has a mock neck, drop shoulders, and slight balloon sleeve. Even though it’s oversized, I found it much more flattering than some of the other options! Fit is TTS.
SO pretty in person! I love the deep eggplant color of this cami and the beautiful lace. It also has a slight peplum, which is a fun detail. This is a great option for work through the weekend! You could easily dress it up for a night out too! They did not have a 10 in store, so I tried a 12 and it worked perfectly!
The same cardigan from before layered with the cami to show how I’d wear them on a daily basis! Just swap denim for dress pants or a skirt and you could wear it to work! (Also, Lauren and I did not tell each other we were pairing these items together during the try-on but ended up both styling it this way! Obviously she has great taste in my book. ??)
I’m a sucker for lace, and I was hoping this one would give the look of a layered lace cami and sweater combo. It didn’t really meet that expectation and was a little oversized too. This is one I would have liked to try on in a small. Overall I felt pretty lukewarm about it.
For holiday or just to be glam, I love this sweater! It has both pearls and rhinestones on it. Fit is oversized again but I’d stay with your true size. This is another work to weekend option!
If you hate turtlenecks, this is the perfect alternative to my fav long turtleneck sweater. It’s quite a bit longer in the back but still long enough in front too. The sides are also notched. The main difference between this and the turtleneck (besides the neckline) is the sleeve. This one is balloon and the turtleneck is not.
This is not something I’d normally pick up but I just bought Layla the heart version of this one last week and had to try it. Y’all it is a dreeeeeam. So soft and comfy, perfect for lounging!
This one is the exact print as Layla’s in a tunic version! And yes, I felt a bit ridiculous in it, but it was so amazingly soft. This is my “peace-out-I’m-never-leaving-home-again” face. ?
A lightweight, tailored jacket that is great for work or the weekend! The belt is so flattering and the material was soft and comfortable. I also knotted the belt in the back so you could see what it looks like without the belt!
Yuuuup, this came home with me! The moment I put it on I loved it! The wide ribbon is adorable, and I like the the brim isn’t too large!
Pink and gray? Yes, please! I actually own one very similar that I bought at H&M last year!
This one also comes in a solid black, but I loved the burgundy color!
I don’t know if you can tell, but on this one the pom pom is knit instead of being a faux fur. It’s also a bit larger than on the other beanies!
Obsessed. A beautiful classic scarf that is perfect for fall into the holidays! It also comes in other colors but I could not get over the red and camel combo! It’s so soft too!
Such a fun sweater for the holidays through Valentine’s Day! It also comes in tan if you prefer a more neutral color! Fit is relaxed. I am in a medium.
The perfect neutral scarf with a mix of black, brown, and tan! I love that it’s not itchy and not too oversized. This is a classic that will never go out of style!
