January Nordstrom Try-on Session

We’re kicking off the year with one of my most requested posts — a Nordstrom try-on session! It’s been a while since I shopped in store at Nordstrom, maybe even months! So, I was thrilled for an excuse to stop in and try on some winter pieces for you. Plus, Aaron was off work, so I got to go kid-free. And let me tell ya: it went so much more quickly than usual. Is hiring a babysitter to go shopping at the mall a thing? ‘Cause I might have to make it one. ?

For sizing reference, I am 5’7.5″ and a size 8/29/M. I will list the size of every item I’m wearing beneath the image and let you know if I have any specific sizing recommendations!

Stripe Sweater

I really love the color combination of this one! It’s more burgundy, pink, and bright red in person. For some reason it’s coming off more brown! It also comes in shades of green and blue that’s a little less bold! The neckline is boatneck and fit is very relaxed. If I sized up to a large, it would be long enough for leggings. But if you just want to wear it with jeans, I’d suggest sizing down one.

Cropped Chenille Sweater

I love this one. If you haven’t tried chenille yet and you love soft sweaters, you are missing out. It’s one of the most comfortable fabrics ever. I didn’t end up taking this one home because I have way too many cream and white sweaters. (I swear they are the thing I purchase most this time of year!) But it comes in six others colors! I’m eyeing the pale pink one. I sized down one and like the fit!

Stripe Bow Back Sweater

Bow details always get me and this one also has stripes, soooo I love it. It also comes in a purple and blue multicolor stripe and eight solids! It’s more of a classic cut but still relaxed. I’m wearing a medium!

Balloon Sleeve Cardigan

Although it’s hard to tell, this cardigan is a mix of blue and black together, which is so pretty in person. Fit is very oversized though! I’m wearing a medium, and I’d recommend sizing down at least one (possibly two if you’re in between sizes)! It has drop sleeves and I love the texture of the sleeve too! It’s plenty long enough for leggings.

Teddy Jacket

I looooved this on! It is so soft and a such a fun statement piece! It was actually surprisingly warm as well! If you live in a slightly warmer climate, you could get away with wearing this as a coat. It also comes in ivory, but I really like this peachy-pink color. Be sure to size down! The fit is very generous!

Stripe Cardigan

Another fav right here! The fit and cut remind me so much of my Madewell cardigans. And of course I love the multicolor stripes. The sleeves are dropped but I sized down one to the small and liked the fit. It does also come in two other stripe patterns and two solids as well!

Bow Tee

How fun are the details on this tee?! It’s one of those pieces that you can wear now layered under a cardigan and solo for spring and summer. I’m wearing a medium and I liked the fit! It felt very J.Crew to me– the perfect updated classic. Scroll down to see it layered with the stripe cardigan!

Lace Top

Dainty, feminine tops are one of my go-to’s, especially for spring. And this one is definitely a great option to wear to work and on the weekend! The fit is relaxed and the sleeves are slightly cropped. It also has a slight puff sleeve. My only complaint is that it is a bit sheer. I was wearing a nude colored bra and you could still see it a bit.

Stripe Button Down

Fav, fav piece I tried. It has a slight boyfriend pajama-top vibe, but I love it. Also, it felt like pajamas, sooooo win. I’m in the small and still had plenty of room! You’ll want to size down. It also comes in a faded black and white stripe. It’s also long enough to cover the booty when untucked!

Bow Back Sweater

Another bow back! This one is the perfect length for leggings though! I love how the ribbon is a little more oversized, making it a cute little statement! Size down one. I’m in the small.

High Low Turtleneck

Another favorite piece! (I know, I know. I liked a lot of them! ?) Although it’s not super-visible in the photo, it is a high-low hem and long enough for leggings. Because of the higher front though, I also like it with jeans! It comes in four other colors and plus and petite sizing! The only downside is that it is a wool-blend if you’re sensitive!

I haven’t been to the mall to try on stuff in awhile! It’s just not convenient with a little one that wants to keep moving! I love chenille sweaters and agree that they are so soft. My favorite piece of your try on is the striped cardigan. So pretty and I am surprised it’s not sold out. Happy New Year Lauren! I hope your 2019 is off to a great start.
