Apparently y’all love a capsule wardrobe! I get it though! It helps when you’re looking at an item to know multiple ways to wear it! So, after last week’s Old Navy Fall Capsule Wardrobe was such a hit, I went to another one of our favorite stores, Loft, to recreate the magic! First I tried on fourteen items, and then narrowed it down to ten for my Loft Fall Capsule Wardrobe! 

Try On 

Before we get into the Loft Fall Capsule Wardrobe outfits, I first want to go through each item individually! We’re going to talk about cut, fit, and my general impressions of every piece! That way, if you do decide to invest in one, you can easily make sizing decisions!

As far as sizing goes, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 28/29 in jeans or a size 8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top. I find that Loft tends to run a little more generous than some brands, so be sure to pay attention to the sizing. I did try on several pieces in a size down!

Striped Tee + Button Front Cropped Jeans 

I’m a t-shirt girl through and through. I love ’em. And I especially love ones with special details that make them more interesting. This one has a tiny puff sleeve. I like that it’s a small fun detail that doesn’t add a lot of bulk to the shoulders! Although it’s hard to tell the background color is actually a deep green. Fit is relaxed but I like the medium on me!

Another one of my favs is button-front jeans! There are a few different washes available online, but I grabbed the black. The length on these obviously does not work on me. I’d say if you’re 5’7″ or shorter with more portioned legs (unlike mine, which are more like a girl who is 5’9″ ?), they’ll be fine! They have a ton of stretch to them. I grabbed the size 28/6, but I’d need a 27/4. Be sure to size down!

Ribbed Midi Dress 

A midi dress like this one is truly a wardrobe staple. You can wear it year-round with so many different layers. This one is ribbed, and I like that it isn’t skin tight. The body is more relaxed and doesn’t show every bump or underwear line! I’m in a medium! See all the ways I style it in the capsule below! This was probably one of my favs to style!!

Blazer +  Ribbed Midi Dress 

I walked in the store in my Madewell blazer and grabbed this look-a-like to try on! This one has a little more structure and feels like a true suit jacket. You can definitely dress it down too, but I’d say this version lends itself more to dressier looks. It’s a heavier weight and is fully lined. The quality is really awesome! It fits TTS. I’m in a 6 and it closes but has a closer-to-the-body fit.

Leopard Wrap +  Ribbed Midi Dress 

One of my favorite finds! I adore this leopard wrap. And y’all, it’s reversible!! You can see it in this photo, but the outside has more of a leopard spot look and the inside is your classic leopard print! It is also so so soft. I’m wearing the XS/S, so you can definitely size down!

Poncho +  Ribbed Midi Dress 

If I didn’t already own last year’s identical version in green, I would have brought this home! Loft’s turtleneck ponchos are the best. So soft and comfy. Mine from last year held up beautifully! As a newly-pospartum mom, it was my #1 go-to piece. It’s perfect for nursing when paired with a skirt, leggings, or jeans! They’re also surprisingly versatile!

Textured Sweater +  Ribbed Midi Dress 

Just like with detailed tees, I always appreciate a sweater with an interesting texture or detail! The diamond weave is what caught my eye with this one! It is a lighter weight sweater great for layering. It also comes in red and olive green. I’m wearing the medium and fit is relaxed. Selecting your size really depends on how you want to wear it! I knotted mine and front tucked it in the wardrobe capsule outfits. If you’d prefer a sweater that is more fitted, size down!

Cowl Neck Tunic +  Ribbed Midi Dress 

Another one of my go-to sweaters from loft. I love have a tunic option that I can wear with leggings, pants, and dresses! The material is a very fine knit that is light and comfortable. I’m wearing a medium, and I like the fit. It covers the booty, but you could also size up one more for a more oversized fit! It also comes in four other colors!

Sweater Vest +  Ribbed Midi Dress 

Y’all are probably going to start doubting my love for everything here, but I truly selected many items that I already own from Loft, knowing that they’d make great capsule items! I have a striped sweater vest from last year and a solid version too. These make such great staples. You can wear them all the ways you’d wear a cardigan, but I always feel like the sweater vest is more unexpected. It’s an updated classic. You can easily wear it to work and on the weekends! I’m in a size medium. Fit is TTS.

Long Sleeve Ribbed Tee + Faux Suede Skirt 

If you’re not a fitted tee kinda gal, you’ll probably want to skip this one. It has a close-to-the-body cut and the fabric is a little bit clingier. (If you size up, I still think it’d hug the body more than a cotton tee!) It is ribbed and as a button detail at the wrist! It also comes in four other colors! Fit is TTS. I’m in a medium.

Textured Sweater 

How fun is the fringe detail on this sweater? The details all around are just beautiful. It also has a mixed weave that creates a stripe look! It’s soft and not at all itchy, which I truly appreciate. Fit is relaxed but I like the medium on me. It’s kind of hard to tell in the photo, but the color is more of a bright white than a cream!

Leopard Spot Sweater  

I wanted to love this sweater so badly! The leopard spot is so cute and 100% on-trend. Buuuut, it is itchy. The moment I put it on, I knew it had wool in it! If you’re not wool sensitive, go on with your bad self and snag this up! But if you’re at all sensitive to itch, I’d skip it! I’m wearing a small and like the fit.

Cowl Neck Sweater 

The color is what drew me to this sweater. I love the brown mixed with tan and the ribbing! Unfortunately, they can’t all be winners. ?Like the last one, this sweater is a little bit itchy. It’s less itchy than the leopard one, but I personally still found it slightly uncomfortable. Also and perhaps more importantly, the style of it is just weird. I know it’s supposed to be a cowl neck, but since the neckline doesn’t go all the way around the neck like most do, it just looks funky. I messed with the neckline for several minutes before just chalking it up to not working for me. Also, the website claims that this is a tunic, but nope. Not on me. I’m in a small.

Cropped Cardigan + The SOFTEST Jogger Pants 

Here are two items I ordered online during the latest Loft sale! First up, the cropped cardi! I ordered it both in a small (pictured left) and a medium (pictured right). My sizing recommendation 100% depends on how you’d like it to fit. The size down is a closer-to-the-body fit and a little more cropped. It doesn’t have much room to be tucked. I prefer my true size medium on me for the more boxy cut and slightly longer length! (You can see me style it in my utility jacket style session here!)

If you live for comfy clothes, you will love these joggers! I ordered them after one of you asked for my opinion on them! And once they came in I realized I already owned a pair. ?In my defense, mine a several years old, and I wore them so much that I wore a hole through the back pocket! My previous pair also were a super light grey, but I like the black so much better! They definitely give off more of a dressy vibe. Don’t get me wrong, you can still wear them for lounging. But they also lend themselves to casual outfits too when paired with a tee and jacket or even a sweater and sneakers! They fit TTS. I’m in a medium!

Let’s start with my favs! I absolutely love a midi dress for versatility! You can wear this to work, on the weekend, to church, or just sitting on the couch. It’s so comfy but also a wardrobe workhorse! You could also sub for a mini dress or maxi dress option, but I do find the midi to be the most versatile version!

Y’all loved the corduroy skirt I shared from Old Navy recently, so I was pumped to see all the adorable skirt options at Loft! The exact one I’m wearing is a faux suede, but you could substitute a denim skirt, a corduroy skirt, or even a dressier pencil skirt for the office.

Jeans Fall Capsule Wardrobe Outfits 

The jeans that I originally picked out for my capsule wardrobe outfits were crazy-short on me! So I ended up using the jeans that I was wearing that day instead! I love a classic dark wash of skinny jeans for dressing both up and down, but you can use whatever denim you have in your closet! If you’re interested in the Loft button-front jeans I tried, remember to size down! They run large.
