October Madewell Try On Part 2

Ok, so we all know how I feel about Madewell. And the sales they’ve had this month have done some serious damage on my wallet. ?But I know Madewell is one of your favorite stores too. (It remains one of my top-shopped retailers by y’all!) So, I don’t feel the least bit weird sharing a second October Madewell try on this month. (Ok, maybe just a little, but I’ll get over it. ?)

I recently popped into my local store (uh, like I do every couple of weeks), and tried on a few of their newest items! And then I also realized I never shared a few of the items I had purchased from the last sale, so here we are. Lots of new goodies for y’all! But be sure to check out my first October Madewell try-on too! All of those items are still in-stock and are newer releases too!

October Madewell Try On Part Two

Have you already browsed my first October Madewell try on? Seriously, start there and meet me back here. I didn’t try on any jeans this time, but there are a ton in my last try-on. So, get ready for some great top options and a jacket that seriously made my eyes turn to hearts.

My sizing

For reference, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 28/29 in jeans or a size 8. (For Madewell, I tend towards a 28!) My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.

If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I list my size and any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!) For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!

Rainbow Embroidered Tee

I love a tee that has interesting, unique details! This one has rainbow thread embroidered stripes and a subtle puff– just at the wrist! I struggle with some balloon sleeve tops since they often are also puff at the shoulder. But I like that this one is only gathered at the wrist! It doesn’t add any shoulder bulk. There is also a small pocket, but it lays flat and isn’t super-obvious. I’m in a small and like the fit, but I don’t think you necessarily need to size down. You could go either way depending on the fit you’d like! This version is a deep green without the embroidery.

Mock Neck Sweatshirt

I was on the fence with this top when I first tried it on, but once I sized down to a small, I was 100% in! It’s a lightweight sweatshirt material that is so soft and comfortable. It has a drop sleeve and the same gathered wrist like the previous top! The background is a light heather gray with black speckles. It also comes in solid black and gold. This one came home with me, and I’ve already worn it twice!

Corduroy Mock Neck Top

I’m always a sucker for everything from the Texture & Thread line at Madewell! So, of course the ribbed corduroy is what drew me to this top! It has a pretty big drop sleeve! (It is almost at my elbow!) And the sleeve is also wide. I thought I was going to like the cream (’cause all the white sweaters, y’all!), but I ended up preferring the gold in person. It is seriously gorgeous! The only caveat: size down!! The medium was pretty massive, and I preferred the fit of the small. It’s still wide and boxy with a wide sleeve.

In the size medium above! I’m in the size small in the gold below!

Teddy Jacket

Just take all my money, Madewell. TAKE IT ALL! I had this jacket on about 2.5 seconds before deciding it was coming home with me. ?The texture of course is beautiful, and it’s so soft. I also love the boxy, cropped fit and trim with snap buttons. I’m in a medium, and if you couldn’t tell, I love every stinkin’ thing about it. ?

Denim Shirt Dress

You may remember that I had ordered the babydoll version of this dress earlier this month. It is adorable, but I ended up sending it back. The puff sleeve just felt a little much on me. So, when I saw this more classic version, I knew it’d be a better fit for me style-wise! It is a bit oversized in fit, so I preferred the small. Also, y’all:  POCKETS! And they actually lay flat! It’s hard to find a shirtdress with pockets that doesn’t add inches to my hips, but this one accomplished it.

And just in case you were wondering, yes the dress and jacket also look adorable together. ?

Long Sleeved Stripe Tee

If you’re looking for a classic, basic stripe tee, Madewell continues to be one of my go-to’s! It doesn’t have as much of an oversized fit as some of their other tees. So, if you’re looking for a true oversized fit, size up one. I’m in a medium and like the fit! This is the kind of tee that’s perfect for layering since it’s not super-heavy. I wear mine under cardigans, jackets, ponchos, sweaters, overalls, etc! It also comes in a green stripe and in a solid version (black and white).

Wrap Bodysuit

I’ve already featured this bodysuit in a few of my style sessions, but I never really talked about it on its own! I’m still nursing, so wrap-style bodysuits or tank versions have been my go-to. I adore this one. It’s just as comfortable as your favorite tee, has plenty of stretch, and looks so great layered under jackets and cardigans! It also comes in a classic black. It does have a thong bottom. Fit is TTS!

Cashmere Sweatshirt

If you live for soft items, you will love this sweatshirt. But since it’s cashmere, it is a pricier item! I will also say that it doesn’t really have a sweatshirt feel. It’s more like a lightweight waffle-knit sweater! But the cut and neckline is where the sweatshirt name is fitting. It does also come in quite a few solid color options if you’re not a stripe fan!

Tissue Turtleneck

So this technically isn’t a new purchase. I’ve had mine since last year, but since it’s the time of year for layering, I had to mention it! It’s a great basic and is the same fabric as Madewell’s tissue tees. It also comes in black, a deep olive, and stripes! They fit TTS.
