Holiday Target Try On
What is your typical holiday style? If you’ve got fancier events or weddings on your winter calendar, I’ve got five beautiful dress options for y’all! But I’m also sharing a few chic sweaters that you can dress both up and down! And be sure to check out those velvet pants, y’all. SO GOOD! 😉
For reference, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 28/29 in jeans or a size 8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.
If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I list my size and any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!) For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!
Y’all, there is no lead in with this post! I am starting with my #1 top dress pick of all the ones I found! It is so flattering, comfortable, and chic! The cross-over bust makes it nursing-friendly too! I could also see it working as an early pregnancy option due to the empire waist. Basically, if you’re looking for a dressy option for a holiday party or winter wedding, you have to check this one out! It is a very deep green with velour dots. But it does also come in black! And it’s under $30!! Are y’all convinced yet?! I’m in a medium and felt like it ran just the tiniest bit big, especially in the bust on me! Size down if in between, otherwise stay TTS!
If you tend towards a girly, feminine style this dress is right up your alley! I love the higher neckline–it’s very on-trend! Plus the ruffle details on the collar and sleeves are such cute details! It also comes in a black and white print option. My store only had a small left, but I would prefer my true size medium! It was tight in the bust and ribcage!
When I saw this one on the hanger, I sensed it might be a little overwhelming on the figure, and that’s truly the best way I can describe it. The pleating creates a lot of volume and the sleeves are also balloon-style and voluminous. Although I didn’t find it super-flattering on my figure, I think it would be an adorable maternity option! I’m in a medium.
This dress is the perfect mix of a classic cut with some sparkle! It has mini puff sleeves, a scoop neck, an elastic waistband, and an a-line cut. It’s very comfortable, stretchy, and has no itch! It’s definitely an elegant yet on-trend option! My store only had a small left again in this one– it was pretty picked over already! I would prefer my typical size medium!
I’ve been on the hunt for a chic slip dress option for the winter and this one definitely fits the bill! I love the deep burgundy color, higher halter neck, criss-cross adjustable strap back, and midi length! The fabric is also so beautiful in person! The only downside is that it doesn’t have any give or side zipper. You will have to slip it over your head to get it on. It fit me but was slightly snug in the bust. For bustier ladies, this one probably won’t work.
If you can’t be a little extra for the holidays, when can you?! For a fancier event of wedding, this combination is just so glamorous! I just need a pair of classic black pumps and some sparkly earrings! It feels very Old Hollywood glam!
The jacket didn’t impress me on the hanger, but I really did like it on! It fits a little oversized, so if you’re in between sizes, definitely size down. It also comes in a rosey-toned brown option. I’m wearing a medium!
For a chic winter outfit, this combination is my current fav!! Y’all know I love a cream sweater! This one has rhinestone details and a diamond texture! I would wear this casually with jeans or joggers. This is also the perfect option to wear with skirts for dressier outfits. It also comes in a pretty pale pink option. I’m wearing a medium. It fits TTS.
And the joggers! How fun are these?! They also come in a burgundy velvet! They fit higher rise, have an elastic waistband with a drawstring, and they have pockets! I’m in a small and like the fit. I’d suggest sizing down! These are the type of pants you can dress up and down. I’d wear them lounging at home, casually just like this, or dressed up with a cami, blazer, and heels!
Speaking of wearing this sweater with a skirt, here is a great example! I grabbed this slip skirt with an elastic waistband. It has a subtle leopard print, which of course I love! The length is midi, hitting me right at the calf. I also love the flowy hemline. The fit is pretty generous, you could definitely size down.
This is another beautiful embellished sweater option! It also comes in cream if you prefer the pearl embellishments over the rhinestones! There is a slight itch factor with 23% wool if you’re sensitive! Fit is a bit more classic than oversized!
Y’all know pleated skirts have been trending for a while now. What’s fun about this one is that it’s actually a sweater skirt! It has plenty of stretch with an elastic waistband. Since it’s made of sweater material, it’s also heavier weight, making it a warmer option for winter! It also comes in a beautiful jewel-toned green. I’m in a medium. Fit is TTS.
When it comes to fancier occasions, I’ve been tending towards jumpsuits over dresses! The top is crossover with a belted waist. It also has pockets and wide legs. The only downside is that it runs large! The bust area was so flowy that I didn’t stay covered. I would recommend sizing down and using double-sided tape to secure the bust line!
Here is another fun way to wear those velvet joggers I shared previously! I’m all about a classic red sweater for winter, and this one has such cool details! I love the texture and the sleeves. It’s a very heavyweight sweater for the coldest days! It was one of my fav finds of the day! It also comes in cream and two patterned options.
Everyone needs a good poncho in their wardrobe to wear with leggings! This one is very lightweight and comfortable. It is only “one size” though. I would think it might be overwhelming on the figure for those ladies who typically wear a XS/S or are very petite! It is a great maternity option though! It also comes in brown, orange, and cream.
