My Daily Makeup Routine

Although I don’t talk about beauty here as much as fashion and style, makeup is actually one of my favorite things. I truly enjoy getting dressed in the morning and just feel more productive and ready to take on the day once my makeup is applied! So, I really pumped to be bringing you my daily makeup routine today! Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see some skincare favorites as well.

My Daily Makeup Routine

I’m definitely a creature of habit, and although I love trying new products, once I find one I love, I tend to stick with it for a while! All of these have been a part of my daily routine for a few months. And some of them have been staples for years!

1 – foundation, makeup sponge | 2 – corrector, concealer | 3 – setting powder | 4 – contour brush, blush brush, highlighting brush, makeup palette | 5 – brow powder, brow pencil | 6 – shadow brush, eyeliner | 7 – mascara primer, mascara

Step One

After priming my face with this primer, I apply Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation with my fingers. Although this foundation is a bit pricey, I love the application! It covers all imperfections while still letting my skin show through! It also gives me a really natural looking glow! If you’re looking for a great foundation that is a little more affordable I also love this one from Make Up For Ever! I used it for over six years! It doesn’t offer a glow but the coverage is beautiful!

Step Two

My dark circles are pretty intense, so to really brighten them up, I love starting with a brightening color corrector. BECCA’s adds radiance and light while offering full coverage. I apply using my fingers and then follow with Tarte Shape Tape applied in an upside triangle with a damp makeup sponge. Also I make sure to take the concealer onto my eyelid all the way to my brow.

For any redness, I use IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness! My under eye concealer is too bright and glow-y for concealing blemishes or the redness I typically get around my nose. But Bye Bye Redness is the perfect anti-redness color correcting cream! I use the color Neutral Beige.

Step Three

To set my concealer, I lightly apply setting powder with a small brush. If you’re looking for an affordable drugstore option, this one is my fav. But recently, I’ve been using this brightening setting powder only under my eyes! It adds a little extra brightness. I’ll take all the under eye brightening however I can get it! ?

To set the redness concealer, I dip my damp makeup sponge into this setting powder and dab on for extra coverage. My makeup typically starts to break up around my nose (the same place I have some redness)! So, by applying with the sponge rather than a powder brush, I get more long-lasting coverage! If I’m going to an event or wedding, I typically set my foundation all over my face with the damp blender. But for everyday, I apply setting powder to the rest of my face with this powder brush.

Step Four

For over a year, my go-to palette was this beautiful face palette! I just love it. The shadow colors are all great neutrals, and I’m also a fan of the bronzer, blush, and highlighter! For the price and all it does, you just can’t go wrong! Buuuut much to my disappointment, I dropped it one too many times. ?I probably just need to replace it since I love it so much! But in the meantime, I’ve been relying on some other old favs!!

This bronzer has been a go-to for years. It’s the perfect non-shimmery bronze. And I also love that it’s available on Prime! I start by doing a quick and light contour around the edges of my face, under my cheekbones and along the bridge of my nose using this makeup brush.

For blush, I’ve been using another ole faithful from before BTP (aka before Tarte Palette. ?)! But of course, the blush is still Tarte. Hey, I like what I like. I wear the color Exposed, and I love how long-lasting it is! If you’re looking for a pretty pale pink natural blush without shimmer, this is it! I apply it with this brush on the apples on my cheeks.

Step Five

It’s time for brows! I start by outlining them with with NYX’s brow pencil. This helps give them a little definition. Then I fill them in with NYX brow powder. I use the lighter shade on the inner brow. On the arch and outer brow, I fill in the with darker shade. The set comes with a mini brush but I prefer using this one. Target also has an affordable brow brush alternative! To keep everything in place, I set my brows with this clear brow gel.

Step Six

For eyeshadow, I typically stick to neutrals and browns. My go-to shadow palette is from Tarte, of course! For my crease, I use the shade Smarty Pants! Then in the outer corner, I layer on the color Firecracker! I love the little bit of shimmer and dimension it adds! Then I line my eye with Kat Von D’s liner. What I love about this liner is how fine the point is! I can get right up on the lash line for a very fine line. It’s also perfect for a wing! This eyeshadow brush is my go-to!

When I was using my previous full face Tarte palette, my go-to colors were Onyx for the crease and Ember for the outer corner! I also loved using the shimmery gold Solstice in the inner corner for some sparkle!

Step 7

Last but not least–mascara! For years I used the pricer Lancome mascara primer, and I still really love it. But then I found the primer included in L’Oreal’s Double Extend. It works just as well! So, after applying primer, I follow with Monsieur Big Mascara. It does a great job of creating a bold lash, which I love. And I never forget to curl my lashes! Honestly, I typically curl them twice: once before mascara and once after. It helps them stay curled throughout the day! And if you want a super-curled lash, hit your curler with a little air from your blowdryer! Just ne sure to test it before putting it to your eye! (This is coming from the girl who has almost burned her eyelid before. ?)
