Every spring and summer I sing the praises of kimonos! When it gets warmer outside, layering becomes more difficult. There’s only so many times I can wear the same tee and shorts without feeling bored with my wardrobe! I need that third piece to mix it up. Enter the kimono! Last year I shared six kimono outfits with y’all, but I wanted to bring you even more outfit inspiration with five new kimono outfits for spring!
Five New Kimono Outfits for Spring
Today we’ll be taking my Aerie leopard kimono from super casual weekend or everyday at-home style to dressier date night looks! If you haven’t read last spring’s six kimono outfits, be sure to check that post out too for even more ideas!
Kimono + Peplum Top Outfit
We’re starting casual with an easy swing top and jeans! When I’m wearing kimonos, I typically think of pairing it with more fitted tees and tanks. So, I decided to mix it up, and try it with a more flowy item. I’d call it a success! I love this look! But one thing you’ll want to do is avoid head-to-toe flowy pieces! To keep the look from me completely overwhelming on the figure, I went with skinny jeans. It helps balance out the proportions! Conversely you could also try a wider leg jean with a more fitted top!

Bodysuit + Kimono Outfit
Here is a perfect example of how I typically wear my kimonos! For this outfit, I went with a simple tank bodysuit and denim shorts. If you’re not a bodysuit kinda gal, you could easily use a fitted tee or tank in it’s a place. A more relaxed fitting cami or tee would also work! (You can see how I wore that style of top in my previous kimono outfit post!) This look would also be adorable with a pair of soft shorts like these camp shorts! If you don’t have slide sandals, I’d also recommend trying this outfit with espadrilles or sneakers!

Tee Dress + Kimono Outfit
Y’all, I love a good tee dress. (Mine comes in 13 colors and is under $20! ??) I mean, who doesn’t want to walk around wearing a giant tshirt all day long right?! And of course pairing them with kimonos is one of my favorite ways to wear them. It provides a little structure to a straight shift dress and some personality too! So many different shoe options would be cute here. Pair the look with everything from sneakers to heeled sandals!

Camisole + Kimono Outfit
This is another one of my staple go-to outfit combinations. But I decided to dress it up more and create a date night look! I love how versatile a simple cami can be. They are perfect with everything from denim shorts to skirts to jeans! They can be dressed up (try adding a blazer over one!) or down! And again, adding the kimono to this look completes the outfit, taking it from a plain tank and jeans look to something dressier! But even though I went for a date night outfit with heels, you could also wear this with sneakers or flat sandals and completely change the vibe to a more casual one.

Bodycon Dress + Kimono Outfit
For my dressiest look, I threw on my bodycon tank midi dress! This dress is another staple piece that can be worn countless ways. From sneakers to dressy heels, it is so versatile! And of course I love the fun personality that adding the kimono provides. Without it, this outfit would simply be an LBD and heels. But the kimono makes it playful, youthful, and on-trend. Plus, I love that it adds just a little bit of coverage to a dress that is very form-fitting! Don’t love bodycon dresses? Try it with a relaxed tee-style maxi or midi dress instead!
