Who is ready for some new Madewell spring finds?! I started this try on in February before our Disney cruise, hoping to have some new items to wear from the trip. But it wasn’t until this past week that I’ve really seen all of the new arrivals start to pop up in-store. So, I added some items I ordered online plus new in-store finds! From shorts to some swim cover-ups, and dresses, we’re covering ’em all in my latest Madewell spring try on!
Madewell Spring Try On
My Sizing
For reference, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 28/29 in jeans or a size 8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.
If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I list my size and any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!) For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!
Ruffle Pintuck Top + Denim Shorts
I’ve actually had this top for over a month now. It was one of the very first springy arrivals I found on Madewell’s site, and it is 100% my style. I love the neutral color, pintuck design in front, ruffle hem and sleeves, and button-down front! The material is very light and airy too. I’ve been layering it under my moto jackets most days since it’s still chilly, but I also love it paired with a pair of shorts or jeans! Fit is true to size, and sizing is very limited since it’s on sale!
I already own a couple pairs of cotton rigid denim shorts that I love, but there is something about a pair of stretchy comfy denim shorts, right?! These are so, so comfortable on, y’all. The rise 10.5″, which I love! Also the fact that the hem isn’t sewn down is awesome! They come folded, but you can also wear them unfolded for extra length. Rolled down they have a 4″ inseam. See the photo below on the right for one leg rolled down! If in between sizes, size down. Otherwise I’d recommend staying true to size for all the comfort!

Drapey Top + Shorts
This is another top I’ve owned for a couple of months. I first fell in love with the cut when I tried on the sparkly one during my Madewell holiday try on! The sparkles didn’t feel practical for me, so when I saw they had a plain version, I ordered it immediately! The fit is drapey and a little wide, but I recommend staying with your true size. It hangs and drapes so perfectly! This is one you can dress up or down. It would also work for an office setting!

Wrap Dress
Ugh, y’all. THIS DRESS!! I love it times 1000!! Unfortunately sizing is super-limited because apparently everyone else loves it too! I ordered it in a size up, hoping it would work, and it was just too big. Since I haven’t been able to get my hands on it in another size, it’s hard for me to say if staying true works. I’d for sure recommend sizing down one if you’re in between sizes! It has the coolest texture, I love the wrap style, and the color is beautiful! It does come in two other colors as well too! I’m going to keep stalking Madewell online and hoping they restock!

Embroidered Ruffle Cover Up
If you followed any of our vacation, I’m sure you know that I ended up keeping this embroidered cover up! It is so adorable and photographs beautifully (in case that matters to any of y’all! ?)! The material is light and sheer and dries quickly. It has a criss-cross back (non-adjustable), mini ruffles at each tier, and rainbow embroidery! Fit is oversized! I’m in my true size medium but could have easily sized down too.

Tie-strap Romper Cover Up
How cute is this coverup? I wish it was a thicker material, so I could actually wear it out and about. It’s a slightly heavier weight than the previous cover up but still lightweight partially sheer fabric. It also has embroidered details, and elastic waist, and shoulder ties, which make it adjustable! Fit is oversized. If I had kept this one, I probably would have wanted a size down.

V-Neck Tank
I’d seen this tank online and was excited to see it in store! Layering tanks like this are a great wardrobe staple, and I love the wider strap. Fit is drapey and an a-line type fit. It’s more fitted at the bust and floats away. I’d recommend sticking with your true size for a relaxed fit. It’s a great option to tuck or even knot! Bonus: it also comes in eight other colors!

V-Neck Tank + Pull-on Shorts
I didn’t take these shorts home with me, but I can’t stop thinking about them! They have an elastic waistband, pockets, and athletic-style tulip hem on the side! They also have slit rear pockets, which I appreciate! I feel like that makes them look dressier! They fit true to size!

How cute are these styled with a jacket?! I love this outfit!

Camp Pants
I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of olive pants, so I was pumped to see these in-store! They have a cargo-style front pocket that lays flat and a straight leg. They also have an elastic back, making them so comfy! I would recommend sizing down. I’m in a medium on the left and a small on the right. The smalls were definitely snug through the hips, but I know this is the type of material that will stretch with wear. I’d rather them be snug at first than too baggy at the end of the day, ya know?

Pintuck Dress
Another darling option! This cotton dress is super-lightweight and I love the embroidery! It not only has the pintuck front, but there are also embroidered dots throughout! It also has a slight babydoll-like cut without looking juvenile. The sleeves are three quarter with a slight puff, and it also comes in red. I would recommend sizing down! This is the kind of dress that looks cute with sneakers but also could be dressed up with a heeled sandal or espadrille! I could see it being such a versatile vacation dress too.

Crewneck Tee + Straight Leg Jeans
Another item I’ve been hunting for are straight leg white jeans! Of course I turned to Madewell! Although I own a different light wash of these vintage jeans, these fit completely different! They have a ton of stretch to them and fit larger than my other pair. I’m in my true size here but would need to size down 1-2. I’ve already reordered them in the other sizes, so I’ll update you on which is best once they come in!

Dip Dye Tee + Vintage Jeans
If you’re not sold on the whole tie dye look, dip dye is a great alternative! I love the ombre of white into blue. It reminds me of the ocean! The fit of the tee is boxy and slightly cropped. The material is also a heavier, more structured cotton! I sized down one.
These are another pair of the vintage jeans! These are a lighter wash, which I love for spring and summer. They also have minor distressing. There is one slit above the knee and a raw hem. They are a stiffer denim but still have some stretch to keep them comfortable! I’m in a my typical Madewell size, which is one size down from typical designer denim.

I hope this was helpful and that you found a few things you love! Yay for my first Madewell spring try on in the books! Let me know what your favorite item was!
Everything is so cute! I really like the dip dye top as an alternative to tie-dye. I’ve been there/done that already LOL!
LOVE all of them! my favorite is the ruffle top one. these lightweight piece of clothing just put me in a spring mood already x
have a lovely day!
Great try ons! The red dress is awesome! Love the last look!
