News flash for y’all — Target’s spring line is killing it this year!! I recently went in-store to try on three specific dresses I had been eyeing online. And then I ended up doing a full Target spring try on session with over ten of their new arrivals. And that was with me holding back! There were so many cute on-trend items. Y’all are about to fall in love!!
Target spring try on
I am particularly impressed with Target’s dress selection for spring. If you’ve been on the hunt for some casual dresses to round out your spring wardrobe, get ready for some of the cutest affordable finds! I also tried on a couple of jumpsuits and tops for good measure. ?
For reference, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 28/29 in jeans or a size 8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.
If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I all sizing recommendations beneath each photo. There I’ll list suggestions for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!) For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!
Apparently tiered dresses are all the rage this year. Get ready to see a few of them! If you have a more classic style, this one will most likely be your favorite! It has a classic round neckline and wide tank straps. It hits relaxed at the waist and floats away with three tiers. The only downside is no pockets. It does come in three solid color options and a couple of prints too! I’d recommend sticking with your true size. This would be so cute layered with a denim jacket!
This dress reminds me a lot of one from my recent Madewell spring try on! The main difference is that this one is short sleeve. I love the crinkle gauzy fabric. It adds a relaxed, laid-back vibe to the dress and is also super soft! It also has a smocked neckline, relaxed fit, and pockets! I ended up bringing home the black one! I recommend sticking with your true size. It also comes in green and pink!
This is one of the dresses I went into Target to find! I love everything about it. The length, the tiers, the ruffles on the sleeve and bottom, the pockets!! It’s just my ideal kind of dress! It has that same gauzy, crinkly fabric as the previous dress, making it so lightweight and soft! This one comes in five colors–and I tried on three of them. ?I was struggling to make a decision about which one to buy! I ended up taking home the white and pink, but I think I’m leaning more towards pink for the practicality of motherhood. In the photo below I’m wearing a size small. While it worked, it was more fitted through the bust than I wanted. I ended up sticking with my true size medium.
This jumpsuit is stinkin’ adorable. It just didn’t work on me personally. I’m pulling it down by the pocket a little in the photo, but it was truly too long through the waist with my short torso. I also wish it was a little longer on me through the leg. For those of you a little shorter than me, I don’t think the length would be an issue! It’s linen and very lightweight! Fit is TTS.
I picked this up last minute specifically to wear under the overalls, but once I put it on, I figured y’all needed to see it up close. I love the clay brown color! But if it’s not you’re thing, it comes in TWELVE color options! ?? The fabric is ribbed and more fitted. If you prefer a more relaxed tee, I’d recommend sizing up 1-2 sizes. The nature of the fabric is a little more clingy!
I was so excited to see these back! I bought the shorts version last spring, and they were one of my wardrobe favorites! The straps are adjustable with hidden buttons and the belt is removable. Fit is very relaxed. I wish I had time to try on the small for reference, but I would suggest sizing down if you’re in between! The fabric is a lightweight linen blend. They also come in black and cream!
Of course I saw the leopard and had to try it. This one of the options that could be worn to slightly dressier occasions. I even think it could work for the office. It has a v-neck, very relaxed body, and ruffle hem. Fit is pretty wide. I would have preferred a size down. It does come in other prints and solids as well.
For casual mom style, this dress is my top pick! I actually initially bought it in the pink and then saw this camo in store and bought it as well! Although I love both, this camo is the one I’m keeping! I love the classic tank style and the midi length! I’ve actually already worn it with the kids. The length is perfect for having to get on the floor and move around. I also appreciate the slits to the knee. Fit is relaxed but true to size. It also comes in some tie dye options and solid colors! It’s 100% cotton and just an all-around win!
I was excited to try this tee dress as well. If you’re looking for a mini option but don’t love the puff sleeve of the previous one, this is your dress! It has a rolled sleeve, empire waist, and pockets! I sized down but it’s a little short for my taste. I would probably stick with my true size for length. Those of you who are on the shorter side can definitely size down! It also comes in black and grey.
How sweet is this little dress? For some reason it’s coming off way more lime green on Target’s website. But in person it looks a little more muted! It has puff sleeves and a button-front detail (buttons are not functional!). It’s very lightweight and comfortable on. Fit is TTS.
Let me start off by saying that I know this dress is not going to be for everyone, but I love it! Ruffles are one of my favorite details, and these exaggerated ruffled sleeves are so fun! It also has an embroidered-trim square neckline. Fit is true to size with a fitted top and flow-y bottom. This is another 100% cotton dress option and is very lightweight!
This is another tee that I grabbed as an afterthought but ended up loving! Of course it has a puff sleeve. The color is more of a faded, worn-in blue, but it also comes in a minty-green and peach. It’s made of recycled polyester and is so soft! I grabbed it in a small and like the fit. Stay true to size if you want even more of an oversized look!
I almost forgot to share this one! I actually bought it before we went to Florida and never had the chance to share it! (Although you may have caught it in my Disney World outfits post!) It has relaxed puff sleeves that don’t actually add any shoulder bulk! It’s super-lightweight and has a subtle tie-dye print! Target calls it brown but to me it looks more like a cream and peachy-tan color! Fit is relaxed but I stuck with my true size!
