When we were finishing up the build of our home, the space I was most excited about furnishing was the screened in porch! It’s actually the first space that I purchased furniture for. (Couch? Who needs that when you have beautiful modern patio furniture?! 😂) So it’s fitting that our screened in porch reveal is the first “completed” space to make it to the blog.

Like all the spaces in our house, it’s been a work in progress for a while! I purchased the majority of our patio furniture last spring and have slowly been adding to it. If you’re working on your own outdoor space, I have a few recommendations for you. What truly helped give the completed look to the space was adding an outdoor rug and throw pillows! Also, an outdoor fan has been a game-changer. I am so impressed with how much cooler it makes the space, even on the warmest days!

I purchased our outdoor rug later in the summer, and I can’t properly articulate what a difference-maker it is! Not only does the rug define the space, but it also brings a feel of the indoors outside. The rug adds to the coziness of the space. I feel perfectly comfortable kicking off my shoes and walking around barefoot on the back porch. Plus it also adds texture and interest!

The pillows are my latest addition, and I was shocked at how they transformed the space as well! Although my husband insists they’re pointless, they add pattern, texture, detail, and coziness that didn’t exists before!

Our fan was gifted to us from Build With Furguson. I cannot say enough good things about it. I love how seamlessly it fits in with our outdoor decor. Plus it is powerful! We were able to enjoy the entire summer on our screened in porch because of how much air circulation it provides! My vision was to create a cozy modern space with a slight boho vibe. (You can see my original outdoor furniture mood board here!) With woven accents, a few mixed patterns and textures, and outdoor plants, I’ve achieved my goal!
