For reference, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 29 in jeans or a size 8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.
If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I list any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!) For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!
Madewell Spring Try On
This dress cut is one of my favorites. It has subtle puff sleeves with the smocked bodice and flowy skirt with pockets. I bought it in black over the fall and it’s still one of my favorite dresses! I was so excited to see Madewell bring it back in fun spring prints like this blue daisy. The cut is relaxed. I wear a medium but could easily size down. I would suggest sizing down one if you’re in between sizes. Otherwise, stay with your true size.
These heeled sandals are not new. I actually bought mine at least two years ago now, and they are still a go-to. I wear them with everything from jeans to dresses. They also come in black, which I also just ordered. I highly recommend them! I sized up 1/2.
Another beautiful midi dress option! This one is button-front and nursing-friendly. It has an empire waistline with elastic and a flowy tiered skirt. The color is just gorgeous in person. It’s a slightly muted periwinkle that’s perfect for spring. It’s 100% cotton with a light crinkle texture. Fit is very relaxed. I’m in a medium but would prefer a small.
You probably know that I’m a sucker for both white and embroidery. So, this top is an instant yes! The embroidery detail around the collar and down the button line is so beautiful. The print is a small floral and the cut is easy and flowy. It is button-front and nursing-friendly. Fit is TTS.
Another item I was super-excited to try is these jeans! I’ve been obsessed with this pair of relaxed straight leg jeans with distressing that I bought over the fall. I kid you not when I say that I’ve worn them a couple times a week ever since. So, I wanted to try a non-distressed option. The rise is high at 11.25″ inches and there is light stretch (99% cotton, 1% spandex.) These are perfection!
If you’re looking for a non-denim short option, these are so good. They have a high rise and a 3.5″ inseam. Fit through the leg is relaxed and they have light stretch. They also come in two khaki shades and a dusty pink. I’m in my true size 29 and like the fit.
I know this set is going to be a “love it or hate it” situation, but I love it. The pieces are sold separately and can be styled in so many ways! I especially love the look on the left below. It’s the perfect mix of casual yet put-together! I’m in a medium in both but found that they ran large. I would definitely size down in the jacket. For the shorts, size down if in between or more petite. I’m going to stick with the medium short for length!
I’m definitely feeling the purple vibes this season! How beautiful is this color?! Although it looks more grey on the website, this color is more true. Fit is super-relaxed and flowy. I sized down to a small and still had plenty of flow. The neckline and waistline are both adjustable if you’d like to cinch either. (I tightened both for a little more shape!)
I fell in love with this maxi dress swim cover up online. It’s so chic! Unfortunately it runs super-large!! I sized down one to a small and I’m still swimming in it. I’d recommend sizing down 2 if you can. The fabric is a lightweight crinkle cotton. You could also wear it as a dress with a slip underneath.
Madewell Spring Try On Part Two!
Squeezing in a few more new arrivals for ya!
You know I love an embroidered top! This one is a pale peachy pink with embroidery around the square neck collar and sleeves. It also has a button back detail. Runs large but I’m in my true size medium.
A 4″ inseam short is my ideal! I love the high rise and the length. I ordered my true size 29 and like the fit.
This is another top that just spoke to me! It’s a lightweight cotton blend with an easy fit, floral embroidery over a subtle plaid, and embroidered smocked square neckline. Although I liked it online, I love it in person! Don’t sleep on this beauty. I’m in a medium and like the fit but you could easily size down.
Shorts have a relaxed fit and a slightly shorter 3.5″ inseam. They have zero stretch. I ordered my true size 29 and like the fit.
I’m a wide leg pant gal now. After ordering the waffle ones, I was excited to see these that have an elastic back but flat front with belt loops! These are dressier than the other pair. I ordered my true size 8 and found them to run large. I’d suggest sizing down.
My all-time favorite Lucie dress in a linen for summer! It’s fully lined, has a smocked body, and beautiful flutter sleeves with eyelet detailing. I LOVE this!!
This dress has beautiful embroidered details with wider ribbon detailing around the sleeves and skirt hem. The sleeves are slightly puffy and the fit is very easy and relaxed. I sized down one. Fully lined.
For summer vacations, having a packable beach hat is a must for me. I was so excited to find this one in black! I typically only see tan woven versions! (This one does come in three other colors as well!)
Cotton top with boxy fit and button-back detail. Matching shorts linked here!
These jeans have the same amazing Perfect Vintage Jean cut, just with a wide cropped leg! Super-high 11.25″ rise and light stretch. I’m in my typical Madewell size (one size down).
I love a shoulder tie detail! This one is an olive-brown shade with tight white and yellow floral print. The waist is relaxed fit with a peplum detail. Fits TTS.
