23 Week Bumpdate

Well y’all it only took twenty-some weeks to get the real beginnings of a visible baby bump.

Weight gain is still slow and steady, about eight or nine pounds, but that little baby girl is growing in what feels like leaps and bounds! I’ve started to feel her move around a bit while I’m up and about- a new update since previously I could only feel wiggles while being still. Aaron was able to feel some very small movements for the first time last week! Along with that growth and movement, the little one has found a new favorite place to position herself: right on mommy’s bladder. Let’s just say there are more frequent restroom trips these days, and running has become even more uncomfortable! (I even had to take a potty break mid run last weekend! Thanks, baby.)

In addition to walking/jogging, I just started adding a new workout DVD into rotation this week, the Suzanne Bowen’s Slim & Toned Prenatal Barre Workout. I’m loving it and am amazed how sore I was from my first workout! Mama needs to work those arms so she can lug around a little one in a few months!

On the food front, heartburn has definitely increased. (My body is just NOT a fan of nuts right now.) But I did have my first pregnancy craving: apple straws from Trader Joe’s. We didn’t have any at the house, but Apple Jacks did the trick!

Lastly, Aaron and I picked out our crib and bedding last weekend. This week’s mission? Strollers. (I have a feeling Babies ‘R Us is going to become our new weekend spot. Who needs wineries when you can spend your afternoons browsing bottles, diapers, and onesies?!)

You’re so much better at preparing than I ever was! I didn’t buy anything until my baby shower which was at 32 weeks, and then we didn’t buy the things we really needed until 38 weeks, and my brother wound up putting together our crib while I was in the hospital after I delivered haha! You’re a rockstar! Keep up the good work!

Ahhhh yay for really starting to feel the movement! And for Aaron feeling it too! I’ve heard great things about that workout DVD! That’s great that you’re loving it!

When I was pregnant, I never got any weird cravings but I really really enjoyed ice cream sundaes, haha. Also, I spent HOURS on amazon.com reading reviews for every single baby item I could find. 🙂
