It’s here, y’all! The season of entertaining and get-togethers is upon us! But do you ever struggle with what to serve or how to set the perfect ambiance? (I sure do!) Today I’m sharing one of my no-fail spreads for holiday entertaining: the perfect charcuterie board. Honestly, this holiday charcuterie spread could easily work year-round with a few quick decor swaps, but I tailored it with festive vibes, perfect for the holiday season.

A charcuterie plate is always a winner because it really pleases everyone… well except vegetarians. Sorry y’all. My husband, like many guys I know, jumps at the chance to enjoy meat of any kind. And wine-lovers and beer-drinkers alike will love how the spread can pair with their libations!

To start, a nice mix of bread and crackers is a must. Water crackers are a good option since they won’t interfere with the flavors of your meats and cheeses. Another must-have of mine is a nice crusty baguette. I also added baked parmesan crisps, but another suggestion is baked crispy breadsticks!

For cheese, I suggest offering both soft and hard options. Mozzarella and cheddar are pretty safe bets for guests that might not be feeling as adventurous, but I also added a soft Italian blend to the mix for variety. Gouda, brie, chevre, and manchego are other favorites.

To make it easy, for the meat selection I chose a Spanish variety pack that had three options: chorizo, ham, and salami. For a more traditional options, try salami, prosciutto, or dry sausage (sausage roll).

And of course you can’t forget to mix in some fruit, garnishes, and spreads! Grapes are a must-have. I also threw in some clementines, which also double as decor! Olives, pickled veggies, olive oil, and a sweet spread, like the fig jam I included, are great additions!

And lastly, y’all, it’s all about that ambiance. Sure the food is delicious, but what really makes my holiday charcuterie spread come together is the decor! For me it’s all about candles. Nothing sets the mood quite like them.
