Are y’all obsessed with slime? I was completely unaware how truly big it was until spending time with my sister. She opened my eyes to the slime videos and Instagram accounts strictly devoted to playing with slime that have over 100K followers. Of course we were all about making some for Layla and ourselves (’cause it really did look fun)! After researching all the different variations, we came up with our own DIY 5 minute fluffy slime recipe.
The day that we made it, I shared the process from start to finish on my Insta-stories. And after receiving several questions about the exact recipe I used, I realized that y’all might be making slime too for your little ones or you know, yourselves. (No judgement!) The good news is that most of the ingredients are things you have around the house. So in 5 minutes, you’ll be ready to play with this quick and easy slime! Let’s get to it!
Ingredients:
- Foam soap (1/2 cup)
- Shaving cream (1/2 cup)
- Corn starch powder (1 tbsp)
- White Glue (4 oz)
- Food Coloring (to your liking)
- Borax (1 tsp)
- Hot Water (1 cup)
Start by mixing the Borax with hot water. Stir and set aside.
Now it’s time to mix all of the rest of the ingredients into a bowl. Add foam soap, shaving cream, corn starch, white glue, and food coloring. We added about 3 drops of food coloring to get a pretty pastel teal color, but if you’d like a more vibrant shade, add a few more drops.
Stir the mixture together until well mixed.
Now grab your borax water. Begin adding it to the bowl, teaspoon by teaspoon. As you stir it in, you should see the mixture start to get sticky and tacky. Continue adding the borax water until the slime forms until a glob.
Then knead the slime until all the ingredients form one ball of slime and the bowl is clean.
And that’s it! DIY fluffy slime in 5 minutes or less!
