Chambray Dress + Blush Pink

When I think about long-term wardrobe staples, there are truly only a few classics that withstand the test of time. A great pair of black or white jeans are timeless. A white button down makes the cut. Even my classic basic tees have lasted me years. But one of my all-time favorites is this chambray dress.

If y’all have been following along for a while now, then I know you’ve seen this dress before. I’ve worn it for spring and summer, and of course, it’s been a staple of my fall wardrobe too. I first bought it several years ago shortly after having Layla. The relaxed fit and classic shirtdress cut appealed to me in my postpartum shape. And it’s still working for me now in mid-pregnancy!

This type of dress is such a workhorse. For the most longevity, I recommend going with a mid-rinse shade of blue like mine. Lighter washes tend to read a bit more casual, and very dark ones give off a more wintery vibe. Although, as I mentioned, this one is super-old, there are plenty of other options out there for you! My top pick is this one. If you’re looking for an affordable option, this one is also great!
