Early Fall Maternity Style – Shorts + Plaid

Yes, it’s still summer, but y’all this weekend the highs were in the 70’s! Did we just fast-forward to September?! It was a pretty rainy weekend, and we ventured out to the mall to make some returns. I was so glad that I had this outfit on that’s probably a little more suited for early fall maternity style! While we were walking around, I heard a girl remark about how she needed a jacket because it was so cool out! At least this time my early fall purchases paid off! ?

If you’ve been following with my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale try-ons and posts, you probably recognize several of these pieces! My plaid button down was one of the first purchases I made. What I like about this plaid over some of the other ones is that it’s super-lightweight. It’s 100% cotton and breathable, making it perfect for early fall or for those of you living in warm weather places! Sizing is pretty darn oversized. I’m wearing a medium, but it is meant to be a boyfriend cut! You may want to size down one if you aren’t expecting!

I also have to call out these wedge sneakers! In years past, I would most often pair outfits like this with a pair of booties. (And I still would wear it that way too!) But I’m so pumped about these sneakers because they’re the perfect bootie alternative! They slip on just like flat sneakers and are just as comfy! But I love that the give the look of a bootie with a little bit of height! These are 100% my favorite shoe find of the sale. I know they’re going to be my go-to fall shoe, especially as a mom!

Love your cute outfit. Plaid shirt never gets old and I love the colors on yours. That’s also awesome that you are able to wear cool weather items in your neck of the woods! It’s been terrible here where I live with daily of almost 100 weather! I am definitely counting down to Fall!

Super cute outfit, Lauren! It did cool off a bit this weekend around here, too. I was off doing a photo shoot with Monica (of Jersey Girl, Texan Heart) and by the time I was heading back home in the evening, I wished I had a jacket or sweater…I was freezing! But now today it is 90 degrees again. Fall will be here though before we know it!

part of me thinks cute look and the other part wanted to skip the post lol. Too early for Fall for me, our summers are so short I want to keep embracing summer fun as long as possible. I think I will pin this look for October though.
