One of my wardrobe staples is a black leather jacket. I wear mine nearly all year (at least from fall through spring!) and love how they complete an outfit. They can add edge to a feminine look or even act as an alternative to a classic blazer. If you don’t have one in your closet, or unsure of how to make it work for your wardrobe, these six leather jacket outfits are a great starting point for fall and winter!
Leather Jacket with a Sweater
For winter, pairing a leather jacket with a sweater is one of my go-to’s. Unless it’s below freezing, this is the perfect amount of layering for everyday! I went with a nice thick sweater. (This one is actually tunic length!) But you could also go with a lighter weight version. I love how the leather jacket helps slim the midsection in this look. It really helps balance out the chunkier knit!

Leather Jacket with a Hoodie + a Tee
This is my most casual leather jacket outfit. It can be worn layered up or as individual pieces! I photographed the most layered version since most of us are moving toward wintertime and colder temps. But if you live somewhere warmer, you could skip the hoodie and just wear the long sleeve tee! Adding a light scarf would be another option. You could also zip the hoodie up or wear a pullover version as well.
Leather jacket (faux leather option!) | Tee – medium | Hoodie Sweatshirt – medium | Jeans | Sneakers – size down 1/2 (8.5) | Necklace
Leather Jacket with a Blouse
Wearing a leather jacket with a blouse is a nice dressier option that could be taken to the office or when you just want to feel a bit more polished. I kept it more casual since that fits my lifestyle, but you could easily swap these jeans for a pair of dress pants or pencil skirt. You could also wear heels instead of flats. (But y’all know how I feel about that. #flatsforEVER ?)
Leather jacket (faux leather option!) | Blouse – medium | Jeans | Flats
Leather Jacket with a Dress
Shirt dresses are the only type of dress I’ve been wearing for the past few months since they are breastfeeding-friendly. But you could really do any type of dress! I think this combination would be especially adorable this time of year with a turtleneck sweater dress and boots! You could also do a long sleeve tshirt dress, swing dress, or wrap dress! (See five ways I’ve styled this plaid dress here!)
Leather jacket – medium (faux leather option!) | Dress – medium| Boots – TTS (9) | Necklace
Leather Jacket with a Jumpsuit
You might recognize this jumpsuit from my four jumpsuit outfits post from last week! I wore almost this exact same outfit in that post, but I decided to make it a little more funky and swapped the red flats for these leopard ones! This is another business casual work-friendly option that could also be taken to date night!
Leather jacket (faux leather option!) | Jumpsuit – medium | Flats – sized down 1/2 size (8.5)
Leather Jacket with a Tunic
Don’t be afraid to play with proportions when you’re creating your leather jacket outfits! For this one, I paired my hip-length jacket with a tunic length sweater! I kept it very casual with a sneaker but you could also dress this look up with a heel, over the knee boot, or flat!
Leather jacket (faux leather option!) | Tunic – medium | Faux leather leggings – medium | Sneakers – size down 1/2 (8.5)
Which look is your favorite leather jacket outfit?
Layered with the hoodie is such a cool laid-back vibe. I do love my leather jackets, even if it quickly gets too cold for them here!
Chic on the Cheap
Love the look with the blouse the best! I have a red leather jacket that I’ll use my leopard flats with!
I absolutely LOVE my leather jacket! I feel like I wear the same things with it over and over again, this was so nice to get some new outfit inspo!
Kendal / Life With Kendal
I feel like I forget about my (faux) leather jacket and thins makes me want to bring it out and try some looks! Love all the options you gave us;)
Fun outfit combos! I have a faux leather jacket that still has the tags on it. I may need to try one of these if we have a mild winter day.
