I know that Loft is one of both yours and my favorite places to shop! So, I was really pumped to try something a little different with my latest May Loft try-on. I’ve partnered with blogger friends before to show you items on multiple people. But this time my friend Joanna from Motherhood and Merlot and I actually shopped in-person together at our local store! It was so fun to be able to walk the store and film videos together. (To see all our videos, be sure to hop on over to Instagram!)
May Loft Try-on
To give you a better idea of sizing, I am 5’7 1/2″ with a shorter torso and long legs. I typically wear a size 28/29, size 8, or a medium. Loft sizing can be a little generous, so keep that in mind if you don’t typically shop the store! I will let you know exactly what size I’m wearing in the description of each item. But if you want a quick reference, just look beneath each photo. There you will find links and the size I’m wearing!
The very first thing that caught my eye when I walked into the store was this jumpsuit! I love the tailored, slightly dressier vibe! The top is fitted while the hip area and leg are wider. The buttons are functional, which is great for nursing moms. But the only downside for me is the lack of adjustable straps. Since I am short-waisted, I would need to get this tailored to fit properly. I’m in an 8 and would say fit is TTS.
Next up, a chambray dress! ‘Cause chambray all day is pretty much my motto. ?This dress is so close to a home run for me! I love the slightly wider straps and the button-front design. I also think the length is great on me. But the bust area is just too tight! I probably could size up one, but upon checking the online reviews, this seems like a common complaint. Such a bummer! My larger busted ladies should skip this one.
I love everything about this outfit! In fact, I brought the kimono home with me! The yellow floral design is so pretty! And the material is super-lightweight for going into summer. I sized down to the XS/S (as I typically do in kimonos from Loft).
For the top, I probably could have also sized down. I’m in the medium, but there was almost too much material, especially at the bottom. I tried re-tying the knot a bit tighter, but then it just stuck out. I’d say it runs a bit large! It also comes in a stripe version!
Lastly, the button-front skirt! I love the longer length. I could definitely get away with wearing it everyday. Of course I love the button-front too! This skirt also seemed to run big. I’m in an 8 but would prefer a 6.
This is the same tank and skirt as before. I just wanted to give you a better look at the tank without the kimono! I’d suggest sizing down one in both.
If you need a super-light tank for summer, this one is so cute! The white is slightly sheer, so I’d suggest pairing it with a nude bra. It has a heathered design to it and also a bow back detail! Somehow I forgot to photograph the back, so check out Loft’s detail shot of the back here! Fit is relaxed but I’d stick with the medium, which I’m wearing here.
And this skirt. WINNER, WINNER! The material almost has a slight sheen to it, making it perfect to dress up! But I’d also wear it just like this for everyday. It has pockets and a front slit, which allows for movement. Definitely size down in this one. The elastic waistband is very generous!
The color and the beautiful floral embroidery brought me to this tee, but I wasn’t super-crazy about the fit. It has elbow length sleeves, but the length of the tee is a little odd. It’s loose-fitting throughout the body, has a scoop bottom and just comes down too long. The shoulder area fits, so I couldn’t size down. I just wish the fit was a little better, more like a classic tee.
The jeans were also a miss for me. They fit like a jegging, which is not my preferred fit for a white jean. I didn’t like how snug they were on my legs and then the waist was a little too big. They just didn’t work well on my body! But I do love the side buttons!
This skirt! It’s one of my favorites of the day. I absolutely love the color, the button-front design, and the paperbag tie waist! The length is great too. My only suggestion is to size down! I’m in a medium but would need a small.
Hello, Madewell dupe! I saw this tank and had to try it because it is nearly identical to this one from Texture and Thread. Unfortunately, the fit is just not as good. Since it has a tie-front the top shouldn’t be so long! Again, I tried to tie the ties tighter to see if that would help, but then the bottom of the shirt just bunches up a ton. If you like this style, definitely order the Madewell version! It’s actually on sale and cheaper than Loft’s, and it fits so much better!
