There is nothing more I love in my wardrobe than a versatile basic! Long gone are the days when I’d buy an outfit to wear once and never again! If I can’t wear an item multiple ways, I don’t need it! And y’all are going to be so pumped about my latest affordable finds! I’m partnering up with Walmart again today to bring you two head to toe Walmart outfits, styling a black maxi day to night!
What caught my eye about this maxi in particular are the perfect un-basic details! The top is a tank, but the dropped waist and tiered ruffles make it unique! The material is also a stretchy woven fabric that drapes and hangs in such a flattering way. And of course I love how it can be both dressed up and down easily!
I’m 5’7 1/2″ and typically wear a size 8 or medium but I opted to size down one. The fit is slightly oversized. You could stay TTS or size down depending on the look you’d like! The model online wears it wider and more oversized in cut. On me in a small, it fits a little closer to the body but still relaxed.

For the day, this is the perfect throw on and go dress! I kept it really simple with a pair of my favorite slide sandals and a cross body straw bag!
I bought these sandals during my last Walmart try-on and they are still a favorite of mine! They’ve held up super-well and still look brand new. They also come in all black, snakeskin, silver, and tan. I would recommend sizing up one half size!
Also, this mini bag, y’all. I am in love! It’s currently on sale for $26 and the quality is so good. It’s the perfect smaller bag to hold my wallet, phone, and a few (or if you’re like me, 10) lip glosses. ?

Black Maxi Dress Outfit for Night
To transition to night, I made a couple of easy swaps! I opted for a heeled sandal for this look. I also traded the cross body out for a black handbag. Going monochromatic always takes an outfit up a notch! And there is something sophisticated about a bold earring and lip, right?! It’s one of my go-to combinations!
If you’re looking for a slightly larger woven bag, this is another great option! It has both the handheld strap and a shoulder strap that can be worn on the shoulder or cross body! It also comes in the prettiest blush pink color and is under $35!
My heeled sandals are on crazy-sale for $17!! If you’ve been looking for a lower heeled sandal, jump on these! They are only 2 inches and are so comfortable. They have a soft cushioned sole and I love the woven details! I ordered them in my true size (9), and they fit perfectly.
