I love me some Nordstrom, but somehow it got out of my shopping rotation. Does that ever happen to you? I feel like I’ve been making regular appearances at LOFT and Madewell. But I’ve been missing my Nordies trips! So, during one of Ellie’s nap times, Layla and I made a quick drive over to the mall. And after L got her cookie from the Nordstrom cafe, we were ready to go. ?(She’s always down for shopping as long as it includes snacks. ?) Yay for a July Nordstrom try-on session! ??
As far as sizing goes, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with longer legs and a short torso. I typically wear a medium, 28/29, or an 8, and my bust is a 36C. If you ever have any question about sizing, you can quickly reference what I’m wearing beneath each photo. I also list any sizing recommendations I may have there.
Tie Tank and Shorts
Of course I was drawn to the Madewell section! This top has the cutest bow front detail! The straps are a bit wider than spaghetti strap, but not thick enough for a regular bra. Fit is slightly boxy but not shapeless! I’m wearing an 8. It fits TTS.
Now onto the shorts! I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Levi’s. I love their 100% cotton rigid denim, but to me the sizing is always off. These are a 29, but they were a little too snug for my liking. I almost always have to size up one in Levi’s, so I wasn’t really surprised by the fit! Keep in mind I do have a straighter midsection. Those of you with smaller waists might find they fit more TTS!

Tie-back Tee and Shorts
I love this tee! It’s also Madewell (surprise, surprise!), and fits a little big. The front looks like a basic tee, but the back has a crossover detail and knot. But do you see how it’s sticking out a bit at the back where it’s knotted? There seems to be just a bit too much fabric back there! So, I’d suggest sizing down one! The material is very soft and comfortable. It’s not as lightweight as the Madewell Whisper Tees, but it’s not too thick either!
Embroidered Smocked Tank
Another Madewell find. Hey, I like what I like. ?This one is much more fitted but still fits TTS. It’s a little difficult to see but the stripes are actually rainbow stitching. And the material is smocked, creating a bit of a puckered look. I’m wearing a medium but would probably size up one since I prefer a more relaxed fit! This also comes in a navy-based version.
Embroidered Smocked Tank
One of my fav finds of the day! I absolutely love the boho vibe of this top! The off the shoulder portion is thick, which helps it stay in place. This would look adorable with everything from midi or maxi skirts to denim shorts or jeans! The cut is slightly cropped, so it’d look best with high-waisted bottoms! Sizing-wise, it does run big. I’m wearing a small.

Twist Tank
What caught my eye with this top was the neckline. It’s so different than anything I’ve seen lately! The rest is a pretty standard tank style. The material is very lightweight, which is great for those super hot days! It comes in six color options and fit is relaxed.

Eyelet Top
This top is right up my alley! Of course, I’m always drawn to pretty white tops in the warmer months. And anything eyelet is always a win. It has an elastic waistline and wrap-style detail at the top. the bottom is a very slight peplum. I like that it doesn’t stick out but lays more flat against the body. The only thing to note is that sizing is on the larger side. I’d suggest sizing down one.

Black Dress
Another top fav right here! This LBD came home with me! What I love about it is that it can be both dressed up and down. I’d wear it casually just like I am here! But for a fancier event, you could easily add heeled shoes and a clutch. The ties are adjustable and I like the length! I did size up one to a 10 and like the fit.

Smocked Maxi Dress
My other purchase of the day! Of course this dress also has the tie straps. I also love the smocked body and the floral print! The length may be a little long for my shorter gals, but it is perfect on me with flats at 5’7″. The price point is also great at under $50! I’ve worn it to church, to a wedding rehearsal, and just out and about!

Floral Jumpsuit
The floral print of this jumpsuit caught my eye from across the store. The base is navy blue and the flowers are a creamsicle and white color! The piping is also that same pastel orange. My store did not have a medium, so I grabbed the large. But I would recommend sticking with your true size. It will still fit relaxed! This would be a great work to weekend piece for those of you who work in business casual environments. I’d just throw a jacket on over it!

I love me some dressing room review post! there are so many great piece of clothes there, but my fav are that beautiful black dress and tie tank, such a pretty bow front detail. And how cute is it that Layla’s always down for shopping, I wasn’t really into shopping when I was a kid but probably I would when it includes some snacks as well! x
