It has been so long since I took a stroll down the clothing aisles at Target! So, I was pumped to see that pretty much everything was new! I honestly could have spent a few hours trying on clothes in store! But I really tried to pare it down to the items that felt most like my style. I found some great tops, jackets, and even a few dresses for our August Target try on sesh!
Target Try On August
As far as sizing goes, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 28/29 in jeans or a size 8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.
If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I list my size and any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!
Leopard Cami
I love almost anything in pale to blush pink, so the color of this cami is what initially caught my eye. But when I got a little bit closer, I noticed that it has a subtle leopard print! Double win! It has a bit of a dressier feel that could be worn to the office but also looks great paired with denim! There are plenty of color options too. I really love the orange-y red option, but it also comes in black, cream, and a more bold brown print. I’m wearing a medium. Fit is TTS.

Sweater Tank
I’ve been seeing sweater tanks everywhere right now. They are HOT! But I get why. They are a great transitional piece that can be worn now and well into fall. I really love the shade of brown of this one. It almost has some shades of rust! But it does also come in cream. Fit runs a little big. I’m in a small here. Stay TTS if you’d like a slightly oversized fit or size down for a closer-to-the-body fit.

Button-front Top
One of my faaaavs! This one came home with me! I love the flutter sleeves, square neckline, and button-front. It also comes in navy but of course I’m partial to this cream color! Fit is very oversized. I sized down to a small and it’s still plenty relaxed in fit!

Camo Jacket + Button-front Top
When I saw this camo jacket I knew I had to try it! The camo jacket from Nordstrom I shared was so popular, but at under $40, it’s less than half the price! The style is so similar with both upper and lower pockets. It also has a drawstring waist just like the Nordstrom version. The main difference is that the Target one has a hood. It’s not removable, but since I wear jackets like this more casually, it doesn’t bother me much. Also this one has more of a true muted olive color, which I actually prefer over the brighter greens in the Nordstrom version. I’m in a size small. I’d suggest sizing down unless you want to layer with heavier sweaters.

Tank Maxi Dress
I’ve been on the hunt for a casual dress like this in olive. Buuuut, when I tried it on, it was a bit of a miss for me. I sized up to a large, knowing this was a clingy fabric. But it still hung and clung to every underwear line, which I did not like. It also has a bit of a racerback cut, which means my bra straps also showed. To make this work, I’d need to wear some type of shaper to avoid all the lines!

Wrap Dress
Now this dress is a win! The fabric reminds me so much of the Texture & Thread line at Madewell. It is a straight up Madewell dupe. It’s a true wrap dress. The inner layer has a button closure without any stretch. The top layer has a little more give and is adjustable with a tie. The length is good and I love the bottom ruffle. Fit is TTS, but just remember there is no give in the waistline.

Shirtdress
I loooove me a good shirtdress! These are a light denim-like material and a very comfortable! It also comes in a gray, which looks more like a washed black! Since I couldn’t tell the fit from the hanger, I grabbed both a small (left) and a medium (right). Overall, I liked the fit of the small better. It was so wrinkly and the pockets would not lay flat, but after trying on the medium, I’d suggest sizing down.

Flutter Sleeve Dress
Of course I love this dress too! It’s the dress version of the button-front white top I love, so it’s a no-brainer. It has the same flutter sleeve, square neckline, and button-front. The front is flat and the back is elastic. With my shorter waist, it bunched up a little bit, but it would not be an issue for most people! Size down one. I’m in a small.

Slipdress
This is another item I grabbed after trying on the Nordstrom slip dress. I love the subtle leopard print! It has adjustable straps and a side slit on one side. There were verrrry limited sizes available in store. I’m sure it’s going to be a popular item, especially since it’s only $22! I tried on a large, but I would have preferred a medium. It’s a relaxed fit that’s perfect for layering with tanks, tees, or even turtlenecks for winter. You could also layer a moto jacket on top.

Camo Jacket + Cami
Before I left I wanted to try these two together! This outfit is a go-to combination of mine for fall and I love it! The subtle print of the cami works perfectly with the camo!

so many great finds there! I’m so into sweater tanks right now but still looking for the perfect cuts for my shoulder. slipdress is also something I’d love to wear into Fall as well. x
