What’s your ideal Thanksgiving outfit? Mine is always about staying comfortable and festive! And if I can wear an elastic waistband, I’m happy with that too! ?Whether you have plans to stay at home or head to a fancier affair, I’m sharing five Thanksgiving outfits that are easy and attainable! And yes, almost every one includes that elastic waistband that I’m so found of! ?
Five Thanksgiving Outfits
For Thanksgiving, we often stay at home or head to family’s homes! And honestly, our families keep things pretty casual. I never feel like I need to get too dressed up, but just like any other day, I enjoy getting dressed! So, we’re going to start off with casual outfits that I’d most likely wear for our laid-back plans!
But I do realize that some of you do get a little more dressed up! So I’ve got a few dressier options as well! As you read on, the options get a little more dressy look by look. So, regardless of your Thanksgiving plans, you’ll find a look right for you!
Leggings Thanksgiving Outfit
Leggings on Thanksgiving? Yup, this is my ideal scenario. ?But even on my most casual days, I still like to feel a little put together! So, along with my Spanx faux leather leggings, I opted for a poncho sweater! I also layered with a lightweight turtleneck for a little extra warmth! You could also layer with a plain long sleeve tee or even a striped top!
I also added in my over the knee boots! I probably wouldn’t wear the boots if I was sticking at home. Slippers are always appropriate at home if you ask me! ? But if I were headed out, I love how the boots add a slightly dressier touch. A flat would also be perfect here if you’re looking for another slightly dressier shoe option. But you could also go with a sneaker for a more casual version!
You can also see more Spanx leggings outfits here!
Turtleneck (medium – TTS) | Poncho (XS/S) – Black + white option | Leggings (medium – TTS) | Boots (TTS) | Hair ties
Jeans and a Sweater Thanksgiving Outfit
You can’t go wrong with a classic jeans and a sweater outfit! A classic white cable knit is a wardrobe staple for me! But I love that this one is slightly cropped. It gives a more modern feel to the outfit! I also added in a few little holiday touches to keep it festive! A red flat, red lipstick, and embellished hair clip together make a big impact! Swapping out for a taller bootie would be a cute shoe substitution. You could layer with a jacket! I’d probably go with a moto jacket, blazer, or utility jacket!
Sweater (medium – TTS) | Jeans (27 tall – size down) | Flats (size down 1) | Hair Clips
Sweater Dress Thanksgiving Outfit
Another one of my go-tos for Thanksgiving is a sweater dress! With the empire waist and flowy cut, this dress is just as good as any pair of leggings! To keep it more casual, I paired my dress with flat over the knee boots! To make it even more dressy, I’d wear it with black tights and a heel! You could also go with a pair of booties or a flat. My red ones with be fun with this dress!
Dress (small – size down) | Boots (TTS) | Headband
Plaid Pants Thanksgiving Outfit
You know what’s wonderful about these plaid pants?! They look a little dressier than a pair of jeans, but they have an elastic back waistband! What else could you want in a pair of Thanksgiving pants?! ?
I tucked an oversized sweater into the front and added a fun print mix with my leopard flats! The red earrings are also a fun, festive touch! But really any bold earring would be great for dressing this look up! You could also swap for a heel or a higher bootie tucked into the wide leg pants.
Sweater (medium – runs big) | Pants (small – size down) | Flats (I sized down 1/2) | Earrings
Sweater and Pleated Skirt Thanksgiving Outfit
For my dressiest look, I still had to sneak in an elastic waistband for y’all! ?I love these style of pleated skirts because they do give off a dressy vibe! But the pull-on waistband keeps it so comfortable! I also tucked in my oversized sweater into the front to make it more weather appropriate!
It may be too cold for y’all for a heeled sandal, but you could also wear a pump with this outfit! A dressier pointed-toe bootie would be another great option! I also love the addition of these sparkly hair clips! Something as simple as a sparkly accessory like a hair clip or bold earring, can make a big impact!
Also, be sure to check out my slip skirt outfit ideas! Many of them would also work with a pleated skirt!
