The Madewell sales happening lately have just been insane! And I’ve been loving their new arrivals too! They’ve released some great new shorts, spring tops, and a few spring dresses too! Can’t wait to share some of my favs with y’all in this new spring Madewell try on!
New Spring Madewell Try On
If you missed my first Madewell Spring try on, I suggest you check that out too! Lots of other good finds for y’all including my favorite denim shorts, swim cover-ups, and the white jeans I bought!
For reference, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 28/29 in jeans or a size 8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.
If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I list any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!) For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!
The way that the model on Madewell’s website wore it made me believe that the fit would be super-oversized! I sized down and ended up with a fitted look. If you want that swing-y style, I’d recommend sticking true to size. It is made of a linen-cotton blend, so there isn’t much stretch!
I fell in love with the color of these pants online. They’re a beautiful coral-y pink! The length is cropped, they have a high rise, and the fabric is light with stretch. They also have an adjustable tab on the back of the waist for those of you with hourglass or pear-shaped figures! Unfortunately these just didn’t work on me. I didn’t like the length (and they don’t come in tall). The style of pocket also sticks out on me, which isn’t flattering on the hips or belly. I think if I sized up I would have liked the fit around the waist and hips better but the legs may have been too big!
This was the item I was most excited about trying, and the verdict is in: I love them!! I already own the black and blue classic overalls, so I knew these would most likely be a hit. And they are better than I expected! Since my classic black overalls don’t have much stretch, I decided to size up in these. I’m glad I did because they are roomy and comfortable. If you want a more fitted look, stick true to size!
This was another item I couldn’t wait to try! It just looked so much like my style! I love the small floral print and the relaxed flowy body. It has a seam right around the bustline and it floats away from there! The bust is more on the fitted side, so unless you have a smaller chest, I would not suggest sizing down. This will be so cute to wear with jeans and shorts alike. I’m especially looking forward to wearing them with white denim! It would also be a cute layering piece beneath cardigans or jackets.
These shorts are the cutest!! They have a high rise, slim fit through the hips, and a detachable denim belt. They have some stretch to them but not a ton. My only mistake was ordering in my typical Madewell denim size. I typically size up one in shorts, and somehow I just didn’t think about it when ordering these! I would recommend sizing up on from your Madewell denim size. For a more relaxed fit, I think I could even go up two sizes! Keep in mind I have a straighter midsection without a super-defined waistline!
