It has been exactly a month since I posted my last try on! Moving to our new home really took over our lives, but it felt good to get back to business! And by popular demand, we’re starting off with one of your favs! And y’all, seriously I am so pumped to share. Today’s Walmart summer try on is my all-time favorite Walmart try on. I hit the jackpot!
Walmart Summer Try On
I’ll be sharing all things I love for summer: easy dresses, versatile tops and skirts, and two pairs of sandals that I just love. As I continued to try things on, it became increasingly clear that I was going to struggle big time when deciding what to keep! It is all so good, friends!!
For reference, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 28/29 in jeans or a size 8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.
If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I list any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!) For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!
I typically go for more understated prints, but this bold jumpsuit is speaking to me! What makes it work is that the print is a smaller scale and doesn’t completely overpower the figure! The cut is also very flattering. It’s relaxed but not shapeless! The straps are spaghetti-style and adjustable. It also comes with a removable belt. I love the shape that it helps create, but the jumpsuit would also be cute without a belt at all. It’d create more of a boho vibe. You could also swap out the included belt for a black one or even a fun bold color for more of a contrast! Fit is TTS. I’m in a medium.
When I first ordered these, I assumed they’d be faux-leather straps but they’re actually a soft material with snakeskin print. The footbed has some cushion, making them comfortable, especially for a flat sandal. I have a narrow foot and did find them pretty narrow on me. So, they might not work for a wider foot. I would suggest sizing up for a little extra width if you need it! They also come in silver.
Sandals (Size up for width if necessary)
Y’all know how much I love leopard, so of course I wanted to try this dress too! It has a wider scoop v-neck with double straps on each side. The back is so cute with criss-cross straps, but unfortunately they’re not adjustable. This was a big bummer for me because they were too long for my short waist! The bottom of the dress has a ruffle that is shorter in the front and a bit longer in the back. It’s also fully lined! Fit is TTS.
Y’all, this is my dream skirt! It’s so light and airy, made of 100% cotton crinkle fabric. And also– POCKETS! ??The only bummer is that the white is see-through. That lends it to being a better swim or beach cover-up than everyday skirt unless you add a slip underneath. It does also come in a bright yellow that I would imagine would be less see-through. Fit is TTS, but since it has an elastic waist, I’d suggest sizing down if in between sizes.
In my last Walmart try on, I found these raffia heeled sandals which I love and kept! But I know not everyone wants to wear a heel. Enter these raffia slides! I swear they look designer! They are so cute and definitely have that beachy summertime vibe! There is some cushion in the sole. It’s not quite as thick as in the snakeskin gold sandals but they’re still pretty comfortable for a flat sandal! These fit TTS!
Another big win! In my last Walmart try on, I tried a different eyelet dress that didn’t end up fitting properly. I was so bummed to send it back! So, you better believe when I came across this one online, I instantly added to cart. It has slightly wider-than-spaghetti straps that actually covered up my bra straps well. And of course I love the scallop trim on both the top overlay and the bottom of the skirt! It’s lined to the knee and has an elastic waistband. It also comes in white and bright yellow! Fit is TTS. I’m in a medium.
This style of dress is one of my go-to’s in the warmer months. I love the look of a more fitted top and flow-y skirt. It’s a light tan color with orange rickrack trim! The straps are spaghetti style and adjustable. There is also a side-zip closure. Another thing I love about this dress is the fabric! It’s that same 100% cotton crinkle fabric as the white maxi skirt! This color is not see-through but it does come in white. And since it is that same fabric, I’d say it’s safe to assume the white version might also be see-through! Fit is TTS but a little snug in the bust. If you have a larger bust, I’d suggest sizing up!
I’m calling it– this is going to be a top seller! It is a straight-up dupe for a Madewell top I bought last summer– the ruffle straps, boxy fit, ruffle bottom, all of it is identical! But this one is lighter weight crinkle cotton blend. The ruffled straps are wide enough to hide a bra strap, and fit is wide. You could definitely size down but I’m sticking with this fit. It comes in eight– yes eight color options!! There are solids and several stripes. I love this navy and white stripe for the fourth and summer in general!
YUP, another item I love! This kimono is gorgeous. It has dolman-style sleeves, a drawstring waist, and tassel details! And I love the bold leaf print! You could wear this countless ways– over swimsuits, tees, dresses! For some ideas, check out my six kimono outfit ideas post and five new kimono outfit ideas post! Fit is TTS but you could always size down. I’m in a medium.
Since you already know I loved the leaf print kimono, it’s no surprise that I also ordered the pants! These are a cropped wide leg cut with smocked elastic waistline. I love the wider waistband because it’s lays flat. It’s also super-comfortable! These don’t have pockets, which is the only downside, but I could see them being so versatile! I’d wear them with a tank/bodysuit, button down top, tee and a denim jacket or over a swimsuit! They fit TTS.
