5 Minute Prep Frose Recipe – Quick, Easy Wine Slushies!

One of my greatest discoveries this year was how to make frosé at home! There is nothing more refreshing than a light, frozen cocktail on a summer day, right?! And this quick, easy 5 minute prep frose recipe is the best, y’all! Plus as long as you have some wine, a 1/2 cup of sugar and a blender, you’re already halfway there!

It was a few years ago that I had my very first wine slushie. Aaron and I were at a local winery in the heat of summer, and frozen wine sounded like pure heaven to me. Let me tell ya– it didn’t disappoint. But recreating it at home seemed entirely too complicated. We didn’t have one of those fancy slushie machines, and the pre-packaged mix were the price of a bottle of wine! So now I was going to be paying $30+ bucks for frose? Yea, no thanks. Needless to say, it took years before we finally tried to recreate them at home.

We did eventually break down and buy one of the prepackaged slushie mixes. It seemed to be the easiest solution. And since the winery that sold those yummy slushies was selling the mix, we figured we could get the same results at home. But, y’all, it was crazy sugary. I felt like I was drinking a slurpee rather than wine.

That’s when I finally decided to do some googling. I read several different recipes and tried quite a few of them. And after we figured out what we liked (and didn’t like), we created our very own frose recipe– one that takes less than five minutes to prep. And it literally only requires two ingredients. Plus, it’s customizable. I’m calling it, y’all. This is going to be your go-to wine slushie recipe!

So what do you need? Well, if you’re like me, a bottle of rosé. But if you’re not a rosé drinker, any light, refreshing white wine would work well! And then, you’ll just need a half cup of sugar. That’s it. Seriously!

Feeling fancy? Add a cup of fresh or frozen fruit when blending. We used frozen strawberries, but we also enjoy it without any fruit! We’re planning on trying watermelon next! But blueberries, raspberries, or even peaches would be delicious!!
