Y’all know I love some Walmart fashion, right?! But did you know that they now have a sustainable line using organic cotton denim, low impact water practices, and are made in LEED Certified factories?! Are you as mind-blown as I was?! I was so excited by all of the pieces I saw online that I could not help myself from ordering a huge selection for a big Walmart Free Assembly review. And don’t worry. I’m not going to bury the lead. YES, THEY ARE GOOOOD. Get excited!!
I actually feel bad because I’ve had all of these items for around a month but I’m just getting around to sharing now. I didn’t mean to hold out on y’all! But no longer! Get ready for some sustainable and yes, seriously cute new Walmart fashion!
Walmart Free Assembly Review
When I was first browsing the new Free Assembly line, I was shook. It all felt so my style. The line has updated classics that touch on trends but can still be worn for seasons. I was getting sneaky this-reminds-me-of-Everlane-and-Madewell vibes. And well, apparently there is something to it! Free Assembly’s head of design, Lizzy Christensen, was previously Everlane’s design lead for 4 years! Furthermore Brand President, Dwight Fenton, has worked for brands such as J.Crew, Old Navy, and more! Yep, I knew I liked this line for a reason. Let’s get into the full Walmart Free Assembly Review!
My Sizing
For reference, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 29 in jeans or a size 8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.
If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I list any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!) For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!
Ringer Tee + Slip Skirt
If you’re looking for a classic tee, this one is good! It’s made of mostly recycled polyester and organic cotton with a light soft feel and good stretch! With a relaxed fit and eight color options, I’m tempted to buy several of these!
Slip skirts are a classic! This one has a side zip and flat front with just a bit of elastic to keep it comfy! It comes in five color ways, but I’m loving this very 90’s-feeling daisy print! Fit is true to size!

Puff Sleeve Top + White Straight Leg Denim
This top was one of my very first purchases and I’ve worn it countless times now! It’s so light, breezy, and effortless! With elastic bands around the collar, you can also wear this top off-shoulder, but I find myself wearing it like this most of the time! It comes in four color ways and is made of 100% organic cotton!
These jeans were another item I instantly loved. They’re made of 99% organic cotton with 1% elastane for the lightest stretch. The denim is very substantial, and the overall construction is so well made. I would have definitely mistaken these for a high end pair of denim! They are GOOD, y’all! My only recommendation is to size up 1. My apple shaped ladies might even want to consider sizing up 2 since the waistband does nip in a bit! I’m in a 10.

Button-front Maxi Dress
An instant classic-cool option! The buttons are functional for my nursing mamas out there, and the fabric (99% organic cotton, 1% spandex) is so light and airy! I wasn’t sure how I’d like this on me personally but once I had it on, I fell in love! The cut is oversized and relaxed, so if you’re in between, I’d suggest sizing down. I’m in a medium.

Button-front Top + Distressed Straight Leg Denim
This top is another one I’ve worn countless times! It’s a top I would have sworn came off the racks at Madewell! I love the button-front design, slightly swingy fit, and clip dot details! It’s made from 100% cotton and has a relaxed fit. I recommend sticking TTS! I’m in a medium.
These are the same exact cut of denim as the white straight leg jeans! The fabric feels a little softer with slightly more give, and I love the distressed knees! These keep coming in and out of stock, so keep your eyes peeled! I sized up one!

Flutter Tee + Rolled Denim Shorts
Another top I could have paid double for at J.Crew! I love the slight flutter sleeve that’s still classic and not overdone. The body is relaxed and the fabric (100% organic cotton) is a little heavier than in some of the other options. It has more structure to it. It comes in five color ways and fits TTS.
The rolled denim shorts are a very similar construction to the jeans! The fit is nearly identical! I love that the roll isn’t sewn and can be unrolled for an even longer inseam, but they come at 4″ rolled! I sized up one to a 10 but would prefer one more size up. I’d suggest sizing up 1-2 based on your shape. Those without much waist definition will want more space! (See how they stack up in my big denim shorts review post!)

Chore Jacket + Ringer Tee + Straight Leg Denim
This chore jacket is nearly identical to one I bought in the fall from Everlane. It’s the perfect boxy cut with oversized pockets and buttons! Fit is oversized. I’m in a medium but I’m on the fence if I’d prefer one size down. It comes in three color ways.
These are the last wash of the 90’s straight leg that I tried! These reminded me more of the white pair in terms of stiffness and they also seemed a little roomier in the leg! I still suggest sizing up in these!

Walmart Free Assembly Review Final Thoughts
I probably don’t even need to say it, but I am impressed– super-impressed! I love that the Free Assembly line is committed to sustainability, especially in the production of all of their denim. And the actual construction and detail of the items is so good that I already placed an order for their newest releases! Don’t sleep on this new line!!
