Although I’ll never completely ditch my skinny jeans, I’ve been loving embracing wider leg styles over the past few years. And one of my favorites is the wide leg jean! But I know that styling outfits with a wider leg feels so different from a skinny jean. So, by style session request, here are five wide leg jeans outfits that you can wear this fall!
Five Wide Leg Jeans Outfits
The pair of jeans I’m styling today are a super-affordable find from my Walmart Free Assembly Fall try on! They have a more rigid 98% organic cotton 2% elastane construction with light stretch. And they’re under $30! The fit reminds me so much of Everlane (my Everlane denim review here!) if you’re familiar with their jeans! For my Madewell fans, I’d suggest sizing up 1-2 from your Madewell size! I sized up one to a 10 from my typical 8 (or up 2 from my Madewell typical 28).
What I love about these wide leg jeans outfits is that they can also be applied to straight leg jeans or even a dressier wide leg pant too! Use what you already have in your closet to create your own spin on the outfits.
Chore Jacket, Wide Leg Jeans, and Sneakers
We’re starting off with a simple layered look! Since the legs of the jeans have more width, I recommend keeping the top more tailored. I opted for a fitted tee and a slimmer cut jacket. It creates a nice balance and prevents the outfit from appearing sloppy! Other great layering options could be a tailored denim jacket, a utility jacket, a slimmer fitting shacket, or blazer (which you’ll see below 😉)!

Cropped Cardigan Wide Leg Jeans Outfit
Just like with the previous outfit, I paid attention to proportions with this look! Although this cardigan is a little chunkier knit, the fit isn’t overly oversized. The closer fit balances the wider leg! Don’t forget to tuck to emphasize your waistline! You could also wear the cardigan open with a cami for a layered look!
The shoe choice here is also worth pointing out! Just like a slimmer top contrasts the wide leg jean, I also prefer a slimmer shoe. Something pointed helps elongate the leg and foot. You’ll notice that I stick with this style of shoe for the majority of my outfits!

Blouse and Wide Leg Jeans
Another item that I tend towards with a wider leg pant is a blouse. With an easy drape and feminine vibe, a blouse pairs perfectly with a more structured wide leg! I know I’m probably wearing it out, but it’s all about balance! I opted for pointed toe leopard flat but heels would also look great with this look! This combination would be the perfect one to recreate for the office with a dressier wide leg pant.

Leather Jacket Wide Leg Jean Outfit
When it comes to a go-to fall outfit formula, this one is mine. I reach for my leather jackets weekly during the fall and winter months! I kept this look more casual with a basic white tee, but you could also layer a blouse or button down for a dressier look! And of course the shoe is a slimmer option, my favorite pointed toe mule. A slimmer bootie would be another great option for this outfit! Just make sure that the shaft of the bootie is more fitted so it doesn’t compete with the wide leg pant.

Blazer and Wide Leg Jeans
Are y’all tired of this tee and blazer combo? I’m pretty sure I’ve been wearing it for two years, but there’s no stopping me now. I can’t quit a good graphic tee and blazer combo!
With this look you see a slight variation in the fact that I went with a more oversized tee! By tucking it in, I still keep my waistline. And adding a blazer as the top layer creates structure and frames my figure! Although I love the blazer with this combination, any structured jacket would work just as well. Go for a denim jacket, chore jacket, shacket, leather jacket or utility jacket!
