It’s no wonder spring dressing is one of my favorites. I love eyelet details, flirty dresses, and good neutral basics. And I’m giving ’em all to you today with these Madewell spring outfits from my latest try on haul!
For reference, I’m 5’7 1/2″ with a short torso and very long legs! I typically wear a 28/29 in jeans or a size 6/8. My bra size is a 36C, and I typically wear a size medium (or 8) top.
If you ever have any question about what size I’m wearing, check the links below each image! I list any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!) For full details, I’ll be chatting all about quality, style, and fit in the paragraphs above each photo. Let’s go!
This tee might be my favorite buy of late. It has the muscle tee look without any additional padding at the shoulders. The tee just extends slightly over the shoulder. The cotton is a slightly thicker, more structured material, and it has an elasticized banded bottom that gives a tucked look! I also bought this in white and took it with us on vacation. It fits true to size!
Next up, the denim aren’t anything new. In fact I bought them a few months back, but they’ve become my go-to daily denim. The other pair I’m obsessed with are these same cut of jeans with a distressed knee. I recommend sizing down one from your typical designer denim size.
Lastly, the braided sandals! These are incredibly comfy for a flat sandal. They have some padding in the insole and the puffy braided straps are also comfortable on the foot. I went with the tri-color neutral but they also come in an all-tan version and black! They fit true to size.
Hello, cuteness, right?! This top has a square neckline, flutter sleeve with eyelet detail and peplum bottom. The fabric is one of my all-time favs, a crinkle cotton! It feels very lightweight and breezy, perfect to take you into summer. Plus, it has an adorable button-back detail! Fit is true to size.
I bought the brown floral version of this top and shared it in my last Madewell try on, but just didn’t love the color on me. This red and white check just screamed summer, so I had to try it! It has adjustable shoulder ties, a relaxed fit through the bust, and peplum bottom. It runs a little bit large, but I worried that sizing down would cause the peplum to stick out more, which isn’t my personal preference. But if you’re in between, definitely size down one!
If you haven’t seen me in this tank before, be prepared to. 😂 I first bought it last summer in white, black, and pink. When they re-released it this summer, I bought it in this neutral light brown and a navy and white stripe. It’s my ultimate summer basic tank. During the hottest days, I wore one several days a week tucked into jean shorts, linen pants, or a skirt. It’s the perfect basic! Fit is true to size.
While on the hunt for swim cover-ups (all my favorite swimsuit cover-ups here!), I ordered these beach pants. They are made of a very lightweight double gauze cotton, which is so breathable and comfortable on. They hit high rise with an elastic waistband and rope-like drawstring. The legs are more of a tapered straight leg and cropped. Unfortunately, the length on these just doesn’t work well for me! But they do fit true to size and come in two other colors.
I also ordered this crochet bag because I loved the contrast embroidery. It ended up being a little smaller than I anticipated,, so it wasn’t a keeper for me. But it is a beautiful neutral option!
Ahhhh. I love this dress so much. It has covered buttons all the way down the front of the dress, a v-neck, smocked waistline, and puff sleeve. Because of the smocked waist, it does fit relaxed, which makes it so comfortable. I also love how the smocking accentuates the waist. I’m in a medium of the dress and like the fit.
This dress is cut the same as my fav Brightside Tanks, so I was very excited to try it! The fit is pretty relaxed and straight through the body with a ruffle hem. I do love a good casual tee dress, but this one wasn’t wowing me. It’s a great basic, but I ended up returning! I’m in a medium. If in between (or are wanting a slimmer fit), size down.
This dress is so darling! I absolutely love the cut and the details. I love the wider v-neck, flutter sleeve, and relaxed tiers. It also has pockets, which is always a win. And the clipdot embroidery! One of my favorites. Unfortunately, this dress is white and unlined. I don’t know why Madewell would do that to us!! For full coverage, I would suggest pairing with a slip skirt. I sized down one to a small and like the fit.
I took a chance and a major step away from my typical all-neutral wardrobe selections with this top, and it paid off. I absolutely adore it!! It’s made of a 100% cotton seersucker fabric with rainbow gingham print. There are two bands of elastic around the waist and a small peplum bottom. The straps are not adjustable but surprisingly, they work on me! I’m in a medium. Fit is TTS.
If you’re looking for a lightweight summertime piece to add to your wardrobe, this is it! It is made of a super-soft double gauze cotton that is so lightweight and comfortable on. For vacations, this would be a must-pack for me. You could easily wear this so many ways from over a swimsuit to casually with sandals to dressed up for night with heels! Fit is relaxed. I’m in a medium and like the fit.
I know this is going to be one of those love-it-or-hate-it pieces, but I’m a fan. It has a banded top with adjustable tie in the back. There is also a small scoop back with elastic, pleats, pockets, and wide legs. The fabric is a linen-cotton blend that feels more substantial and holds its shape. I sized down to a 6, and it’s still an oversized fit (which is the intended fit!)! I ended up reordering in a 4 and kept that size (2 sizes down). For my longer torso friends, this one is probably a skip. It fits me with a little bit of room, but I do have a shorter torso.
For those of you who love wide leg jumpsuit but want a dressier option, this is it! The style is exactly the same as the linen version. The material here is much more fluid and flowy. I’m in a size 6 here and like the fit.
Yup, another jumpsuit! This one is a similar material to the other linen option. But it’s more fitted with a natural waist with elastic back and open ruffle bow back. The ruffle detail truly makes this a statement piece! You could easily dress this up or down. I’d love to wear this for an outdoor wedding! I’m in a size 6. I would suggest sizing down if in between, otherwise stay tts.
