One of my favorite trends of the year has to be matching sets. I love the ease of having pieces made for each other, throwing them on, and going about my day! But as always, I never want to be stuck with only wearing an item in one way. So, today I’m sharing five matching set outfits from one two-piece set!
Five Matching Set Outfits
I recently ordered this oversized poplin button down and matching poplin shorts from Abercrombie. With crisp structured fabric, the pieces can easily be dressed up or down. Want a set that works for both the office and the weekend? This is it!! I sized down one in the top and it’s still very oversized. If you want a more tailored but still relaxed fit, size down two. The shorts fit true to size but slightly snug. I’d say a medium is more on 6-8 range rather than the typical 8-10. You may want to size up if in between!
Matching Set Outfit
We’re starting with the most popular way I see this type of set styled! Pairing the open button down with a cropped tank and matching shorts gives a casual yet pulled-together vibe! I opted for a flat sandal but for a sportier version, go with a sneaker!

Oversized Button Down and Shorts
For my classic-at-heart gals (ahem, me included!), this outfit is the perfect timeless option! Want to get even dressier? Swap the shorts for a slim-cut pant and heels!

Tucked in Matching Set Outfit
Love the look of a romper but don’t want to deal with getting completely undressed in the bathroom? Hello, matching set! To keep the look a little more undone, I layered with a black cropped tank underneath! This is a combo that is also easily dressed up! I can see it with a pair of heeled sandals, and updo, and fun earrings for a night out!

Sporty Outfit
With my kids being home for the summer, I’ve been leaning into more casual, sporty looks like this. I love that I can still feel put-together while also feeling very comfortable. I simply paired a cropped tee with the shorts, added sneakers, a hat, and belt bag for an easy mom-on-the-go vibe.

Oversized Button Down Cover Up
And I couldn’t forget one of the best ways to wear an oversized button down this season– as a cover-up! The fit of the top makes it the perfect option. It offers enough coverage and simultaneously looks super-chic!
