Summer Beauty Hacks

Summer is always one of my favorite times of the year. Life seems to slow down just a little bit and it’s more about spending time relaxing with family and friends than it is about the hustle and bustle. With a more relaxed, laid-back attitude also comes a more relaxed beauty routine. Who has time for an hour-long primping session to just go out and melt in the sun anyways? Not this girl. So here are my top five Summer beauty hacks to get you out the door a bit quicker:

1. Use moisturizer with SPF to DIY tinted moisturizer.

Choosing a moisturizer with SPF is a no-brainer year-round, but it’s even more important in the Summer when sun rays are at their strongest. I DIY my own tinted moisturizer for Summer by mixing one pump moisturizer with SPF with one pump of liquid foundation. Lighter makeup and sun safety in one – win, win.

2. Baby powder doubles as dry shampoo.

Dry shampoo is another product I use regardless of the season but is even more important in Summer. Sweat from being outside in the warmer temperatures can dirty your hair faster than normal, but I’m still not up for washing every other day. No need to shell out the extra cash for dry shampoo. Baby powder is a great alternative. Be sure to apply it at night so that it can really soak up the excess oil. Wake up with fresh hair!

3. Use lotion with lactic acid and skip exfoliation.

In extreme temps of Winter and Summer, skin needs a little extra TLC from dryness, right? You can skip out on the twice weekly exfoliation sessions by using body lotion with lactic acid. If you suffer from keratosis pilaris, which is a bumpy rash often appearing on the backs of your arms, the lactic acid will also clear that up too!

4. Leave-in conditioner with UV protection detangles and protects.

Another great multi-tasking product that will save you time (and money)! Spritz your hair straight out of the shower as your daily conditioner, or use it to detangle slept-on hair in a jiffy. I love that it protects against the sun and UV rays, which means less color fade and sun damage!

5. Cream hair removal lessens shaving!veet gel cream - summer hacks

When is the last time you gave Veet a try? I’ve been using it for years, especially in the summertime. It takes about the same amount of time as shaving but the results last so much longer! I use it about once weekly for super-smooth legs. Save some serious time and forget shaving your legs daily, ladies.

Veet® helps you feel smooth all summer long. There’s nothing like the feeling of freedom that summer brings. https://www.facebook.com/veet

I go through dry shampoo so quickly that I always end up using baby powder in-between purchases! It’s the best in a pinch!

Love that bit about lactic acid, it was definitely something I didn’t know! I’ve been using baby powder when I’m out of dry shampoo for years. Not only does it absorb oil, but it makes your hair plumper! Your hair looks fuller when you use it and if you’re a blodn it makes your blond look blonder!
