Layla celebrated her seven month birthday March 30! I am having such a blast with this little girl of mine! (Now only if I could slow time…)

Weight: 18 pounds

Eating: Things are getting really fun in the food department. She is still nursing every four hours during the day, but we’re moving away from purees and more into whole foods. She loves eating banana, avocado, strawberries, oranges, chicken and even zucchini! She’s really good at gumming her food, and she spends the entire time she’s eating making noise! She definitely gets into her meals and is so animated! She’ll let you know if you aren’t feeding her fast enough too.

Sleep: She’s still a champ with nighttime sleep (11.5 – 12 hours) but isn’t a huge fans of naps. She’s taking three a day (most days), but they typically only last around 30-40 minutes.

Clothes: She still fits into 3-6 month clothes, but I’ve started transitioning her into the next size since they are her Spring and Summer clothes.

Mood: So happy! Layla spends most of her day smiling, laughing, and “talking” (or clucking) happily. She is also super-affectionate. She loves cuddles (lots of quick ones because wiggling and playtime are too much fun) and will pull her face towards mine to get nice and close. She seems to be getting over the hump with stranger danger, going to others more quickly. She also likes making people laugh and smile. She will repeat silly faces, imitate noises and sounds, and giggle if she gets a positive reaction!

Layla is truly so much fun. She loves sitting up and playing with toys, but if she lays down, she’ll reach for lovey or a blanket and start a game peek-a-boo! She’s learned to clap and dances when she’s excited or hears upbeat music. Layla also knows several words like her name, milk, hungry, and binky. I have to be very careful about what I say around feeding time or she gets upset and impatient!

Bath time is one of her favorite times of the day. She loves playing with her tub toys, especially her orange puffer fish. Girl won’t let go of it the entire tubby! She’s become even more observant these days too and listens intently to every sound. She loves looking around trying to locate new sounds and follows peoples’ movements around the room to see what they’re doing. She reaches for toys and when she’s on her belly, she’s making movements like she’s ready to crawl. She’ll scoot a little from side to side but has yet to make any forward movement. I don’t think I’m quite ready for her to be moving all around the house, but I think it’s right around the corner!
