How to Mix Up Your Work Wear

I used to think of my work wear, and associate it with boring staples in black, navy or gray (mostly because that’s all I purchased). But I’ve come to love the little ways I can add personality to my work wear. Although still conservative pieces individually, together the gingham plaid button down mixed with blue and red stripe blazer add a little fun.navy blue prints business casual

What I also love about these pieces is that none of them are strictly office pieces. The blazer, button down and flats are all a part of my casual wardrobe as well.stripes with gingham plaid printred and blue striped blazerbusiness casual print mixmixed prints nautical work wearBlazer: J.Crew (similar), Button Down: J.Crew (similar), Skirt: J.Crew (similar), Earrings: Amrita Singh Lenora, Necklace: Etsy, Bracelet: via eBay

Love this work outfit! I’m always looking for ways to make my clothes do double-duty, for both work and casual outfits. I think you are really good at that!

I have closet full of plain black pants and put some spice in my wardrobe with my shoes and tops. But its so boring still!! I need to use your ideas to get rid of the black pant plague I have going on!!

I’ve always said this, but you really do have the best work wardrobe. It’s very professional, but still infused with your personality. I can totally tell you feel like “you” in these outfits!

You mixed casual and work pieces perfectly! A rule of thumb when I shop is that I try to stretch anything I buy to be worn for all types of occasions. Totally loving your pattern mixing with this look!

This is a great reminder to me to remember to have fun with my work wardrobe! I love what you’re wearing so much! I think I get complacent sometimes because it’s too early in the morning for me to want to deal with getting dressed, so I’ll throw on the most comfortable thing possible that I can get away with. I have my moments, but usually I’m way too lazy. I would feel so good if I looked as great as you did every day!

What a great outfit! I would never have thought of putting the top and jacket together but I really love it – I might have to “steal” this outfit idea!

I love this look too 🙂
I did a bit of print mixing on Monday and the guys I work with (all style-challenged male engineers) did not know what to make of it. Oh well… xo

I definitely think work wear can be a lot of fun, especially since so many offices have a more casual approach to business wear. This print mix is so cute and fun!
