Holiday Beauty

With Christmas and New Years right around the corner, Holiday parties are in full swing. And although I keep my beauty routine pretty basic throughout the year, the holidays are the perfect opportunity to glam it up with a little extra sparkle to keep things festive, dontcha think? So today we’re doing just that: I’m really excited to bring you an easy holiday beauty tutorial for a makeup look worthy of your fabulous party circuit. 😉

I started off with my basics. My all-time favorite foundation is Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation (I use shade Y315 – Sand.) It’s what I’ve been using every day for over four years because the coverage is so build-able and flawless. Afterwards, I applied my favorite concealer – NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla. For build-able blush, I love Bare Minerals (my favorite color Morning has been discontinued, but Secret is similar!). I kept the blush light to just add some color to my cheeks.

I wanted my eyes to be the main focus. I used the LORAC Pro Palette, starting with the color cream from my lid to brow. Then I layered light bronze all over my lid. Next came pewter from the outer corner of my eye to the midpoint. Next I blended expresso in the outer corner of my eyelid and my crease.

To add a little extra shimmer, I lightly wet my brush and lined my lower lashes with light bronze as well. I added a thin line of eyeliner (The Balm is my fave.), and finished with a healthy application of mascara. To get some extra oomph from my lashes, I love using Lancome CILS BOOSTER XL under Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.

Some ladies love a bold lip, and some don’t. So I photographed with both options.

Personally I think that red lips and holidays are just meant to go together. I chose NARS in the shade Cruella for a bold, matte red. (The neutral is NARS Rikugien).

And last but not least, a bright smile is holiday party must-have! I’ve shared my love of Crest Whitestrips before, but I was able to try out the new 3D 1-Hour Whitestrips Kit, which are so convenient, easy to use, and whiten teeth faster than ever. Other things I love about Whitestrips? They have a no-slip grip, meaning you can talk and drink water while whitening. Multi-tasking during the holidays is pretty much a must, right?!

If your smile needs a little refresher, then you have to check out Walmart’s current BOGO deal. You can get two boxes for the price of one! You can remove years of teeth stains in just one hour, so you’ll be ready for picture-perfect photo ops in no time! 😉
