Today is the first day that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to the public – YAY! I’ll admit that I’ve spent entirely too much time looking at the site for all of the different deals and I placed several orders so that I could try things on without fighting the crowds. If you caught my Snapchat on Wednesday, you got a preview of some of these items along with my initial reactions, but I wanted to provide a big round-up with links directly to the items along with sizing and my thoughts. This is a long one, but I really hope that you enjoy it, that it is helpful, and that it save you some time!
4″ heel, but super-comfortable. I loved the perforated look, but ultimately I fell in love with the Vince Camuto’s!
These have a slightly lower heel than the first pair and were comfortable enough for me to run around in earlier this week. I just loved the ways these looked on. They’re perfect for everything from dresses to shorts to jeans. I went with my normal size.
Very soft and I love the large leopard print, but it is a bit shorter that I’m used to. I think I’ve become brainwashed by the blanket scarf! If you hate oversized scarves, then this is definitely for you!
These lace-ups come in five solid colors and this pretty animal print. The website advised that they ran a bit small, but I ordered my typical size (9). My feet are a bit narrow, so if you have wider feet, I’d size up one half size!
Lush Lace-Up Back Top – Size Small
The lace-up back detail makes this top. It’s super-soft and could be worn casually or a bit dressed up. It’s a bit shorter in front and longer in the back. Unfortunately I didn’t love how it hit me, and found it a bit unflattering.
BP Open Cardigan – Size Medium
I was a bit underwhelmed by this cardigan. (How excited can one be about a cardigan? I don’t know.) I knew it’d be oversized, but it felt too oversized and very wide. I would definitely size down to a Small even though BP is a junior’s line, and I think it’d make all of the difference. Long cardigans are definitely a Fall staple, so if you’re in need of one this one comes in seven different colors. Just size down!
Caslon Draped Jacket – Size Small
When I first pulled this jacket out, it was completely shapeless. It does have inner drawstrings to help add shape, but I still found it a bit “meh” in general once I adjusted it. I also comes in olive and black. I would recommend sizing down for a better fit if you’re interested in trying it, but personally it was one of my least favorite items I tried.
Caslon Open Front Cardigan – size Small
Definitely a Fall and Winter staple. I love throw-on type pieces like this that work great over comfy tees. The draping is perfect and it’s super-soft. I could see it paired with leggings, jeans, and leather pants! This one is a major win!
Leith Lace-Up Top – size Small **currently sold out, but this one or this one are both very similar and on sale!**
Very soft and a pretty drape. The sleeves are slightly belled, giving this top the perfect 70’s vibe. I love the beautiful cranberry color too!
Socialite Cross Front Tee – Size Medium **currently sold out but Lush has this great option!*
This tee is quite soft and has a nice relaxed fit without being oversized. If you’re looking for an updated basic, then look no further than this tee.
BP Tunic – Size Medium
I’ll admit that when I first looked at this top in person, I was not impressed. (Maybe it was all those dang wrinkles?! Sorry, y’all. I wasn’t about to iron to just for a quick try-on!) But after seeing it photographed I’m convinced. It’s long enough to wear with leggings for Fall and Winter, but is not too long to tuck into jeans. I think it would also be really cute worn open over a long tee! It also comes in white and gray.
Chloe & Katie Swing Tank – Size Large
This top comes in three colors (also cranberry and black) and two print versions. What I love about this tank is the color and material. It’s nice and breathable for Summer but still has some Fall vibes with the olive shade. It’s one of those great transition pieces that can later be worn with a leather jacket. The only downside is that it is a bit short. With high-waisted jeans it was fine, but if you prefer lower rises, you might not be completely covered.
Free People Open Back Sweater – Size Small
I love how perfectly oversized this top is. The draping in the front is super-pretty and you know how I feel about open back tops. Perfection!
Zella Live In Leggings – Size Small – The reviews on this leggings are crazy-ridiculously-awesome (as in 5 stars with 2400+ reviews)! People tout them for their durability and fit. They really do fit like a dream and I can’t wait to wear them as everyday leggings and also to the gym!
Socialite Cowl Neck Dress – Size Medium
I loved the relaxed fit of this swing dress. It’s very flattering and forgiving! It has pockets and comes in 10 colors. I’d wear it with booties in early Fall, then transition it with high boots and leather jacket or cargo jacket when the weather cools. You could even layer it up with a long sleeve tee!
Mimi Chica Open Back Dress – Size Medium
I really wanted to love this dress. Striped tshirt dresses are my jam, but this “dress” was ridiculously short. I didn’t photograph the cute open back because it would have been inappropriate to show my booty on the internet. If you’re looking for a tunic, this might be an option. Otherwise, I’d stay away (unless you’re under 5’4″!). Also the pockets did not lay flat, and on my body, it made my hips appear wider than they are. Definitely not a favorite.
BP Plaid Tunic – Size Small
The weight of this top was really nice and would be perfect for early Fall and then layering later once it’s cool. It has a longer back and nice oversized fit. If you’ve tried the J.Crew boyfriend flannel tops, this is very similar in cut and fit. It comes in six different plaids, including red, green, and navy. This one is a Fall staple for sure and is under $30!
Caslon Striped Tee – Size Small
I bought last year’s version and wore it to death. This year’s style is identical in cut but has a small pocket. It comes in 15 colors and is under $20. Now’s the time to restock on your tees!
Lush Twist Front Top – Size Medium
I kept going back and forth on this top before ultimately deciding to order it. I’m glad I did because the cut is super-flattering. I imagine wearing this casually with distressed jeans or dressing it up with black denim and heels for a date night.
Please let me know if you have any questions! I am hoping to put together some outfits from my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale finds soon so you can get a better picture of how I’d wear these items. I’d love to know if there are any pieces in particular that you want to see styled! Happy shopping!
Hi luv! First off, you are gorgeous girl! Second, what bra are you wearing with the open back sweater? I love the open back but I definitely cant go without some kind of support, do you have any suggestions? Thanks for this and all your posts!
All of of your picks! In fact we ordered many of the same items haha! I will say though I was back and forth on ordering the Free People open back sweater, and I ended up not getting it, but after seeing it on you I’m rethinking that!

My favorite piece is the Caslon Open Front Cardigan. I would love to replace my current all black cardigan with this one.
Ooooh I absolutely love this type of post, because you’re reviewing the items you purchased which is INFINITELY more helpful than just links to items you like AKA everyone else’s post. This is amazing & I love your honesty. “Ridiculously short” made me chuckle! xx Adaleta Avdic
